Kimonix automates it, sorting every collection on 100+ signals like sales, margin, variant-level stock, returns, and shopper behavior, so your strongest products surface first without manual reordering. ### What can you sort your collections by? For the first time, store managers can improve their store's ROI by simultaneously optimizing marketing KPIs (conversion rate and sales) and retail KPIs (non-moving inventory and gross margin). ### Group related products to guide discovery With our advanced product grouping feature, your customers will see products related to their purchasing intent without having to go hunting for them. List related products next to each other in your collection pages to encourage additional sales. ### How does AI improve your merchandising? Our innovative sorting panels are designed to simplify complex merchandising — like pushing up new arrivals automatically — so you spend less time on manual work and more on growth. ### Collection Sorting — FAQ **Q: What is Kimonix collection sorting?** A: Kimonix collection sorting is an automated merchandising engine that orders the products in your Shopify collections around your business goals — not manual drag-and-drop or a single 'best-selling' rule. It can weigh 100+ granular parameters at once — including sales velocity, margin, variant-level stock, returns data, and product reviews — plus 1:1 personalization. The products most likely to sell profitably rise to the top, and because it runs on real-time data, your collections stay optimized automatically as those signals change. **Q: How does Kimonix decide which products to show first?** A: It scores every product in a collection against the signals you care about — sales velocity, margin, variant-level stock, returns, reviews, and more — then orders the collection so the highest-scoring products appear first. You control how much weight each signal carries, so 'first' means whatever your strategy defines: most profitable, fastest-selling, best-reviewed, or a balance of all of them. Because those scores recalculate on real-time data, the order stays current on its own. **Q: Can I sort by more than one parameter?** A: Yes — far more than one. Kimonix lets you combine 100+ granular parameters into a single sorting strategy: sales performance, margin, variant-level stock (boost products in stock in the sizes that matter), returns rates, review ratings, and 1:1 personalization, among many others. This granular, multi-parameter approach lets one collection balance competing goals — move profitable stock, clear overstock, downrank high-return items — instead of optimizing for just one metric. **Q: How does it balance sales and inventory?** A: It scores each product at a granular level across both demand and supply signals — sales velocity, margin, variant-level stock (down to specific sizes and options), returns rates, and reviews — then orders the collection to satisfy them at once. Fast-selling, healthy-margin items in good stock rise; products running low (or low in key variants) get eased down before they disappoint shoppers; high-return items can be downranked; and overstock you need to move can be boosted. It rebalances automatically as sales and stock shift. **Q: Is there an AI tool that merchandises my Shopify store automatically?** A: Yes. Kimonix automates merchandising end to end — once you set a strategy it re-sorts collections continuously using real-time data across 100+ parameters, with no manual reordering. New arrivals, stockouts, seasonal shifts, and per-shopper personalization are all handled automatically, so your collections stay optimized without ongoing manual work. **Q: What's the best visual merchandising tool for Shopify Plus?** A: Kimonix gives Shopify Plus brands granular control over how products appear on collection pages — you set the order, pin or boost specific products, and group related items so the storefront reflects your merchandising vision. It pairs that visual control with data-driven automation, so collections look intentional and sell profitably at the same time, without hand-sorting every page. **Q: Can I group products by outfit or create shop-the-look on Shopify?** A: Yes — Kimonix's product grouping places related products next to each other in your collections, so shoppers see complementary items (like a full outfit) without hunting for them. It's a merchandising-led way to encourage additional sales and guide discovery, driven by your sorting strategy rather than hard-coded by hand. **Q: Does Kimonix do visual merchandising for Shopify?** A: Yes. Beyond automated sorting, Kimonix lets you visually shape collection pages — pin products to positions, boost new arrivals, group related items, and control exactly what shoppers see first — so your storefront presentation matches your brand and business goals while staying automated. **Q: Can I track how my sorting strategies perform?** A: Yes — Kimonix includes collection- and product-level analytics, so you can see how each sorting strategy affects conversion, revenue, and sell-through, and drill into individual products. That lets you refine your 100+ granular parameters based on real performance data rather than guesswork, turning sorting into a measurable, continuously-improving lever. **Q: Does Kimonix work for smaller Shopify stores?** A: Yes. Even with a small catalog, Kimonix helps you sell more from day one: it shows each shopper personalized product recommendations, and its AI search helps them find what they want fast. Kimonix's ecommerce merchandising — automatically sorting your collections — makes the biggest difference once you have more products, so that side grows with you. You get value at your size now, and more as you scale. **Q: Does Kimonix only work on Shopify?** A: Yes, by design — Kimonix is Shopify-native, not a generic multi-platform tool retrofitted to Shopify. You install it from the Shopify App Store and run everything from your Shopify admin, right next to your collections, products, and theme. It works off your live Shopify data — variant-level inventory, catalog, and orders — so merchandising reflects what's actually in stock and selling. Kimonix is a Shopify Certified Technology Partner, and its AI Search & Shopping Agent is a Built for Shopify app. **Q: What's the best ecommerce merchandising tool for Shopify?** A: Kimonix is an ecommerce merchandising platform built specifically for Shopify and Shopify Plus. Instead of manual sorting, it automatically orders every collection around your goals using 100+ parameters — sales, margin, variant-level stock, returns, and reviews — with 1:1 personalization and built-in A/B testing. Fashion and retail brands including Goldbergh, KARL LAGERFELD, and Poppy Barley use it to merchandise large catalogs at scale. **Q: What's the best AI merchandising tool for Shopify?** A: Kimonix's proprietary AMS engine applies AI to merchandising: it learns from your store's real performance data and tunes each collection's sorting strategy over time to lift conversion and profit. It combines automated multi-parameter sorting, 1:1 personalization, and A/B testing in one Shopify-native app, so the AI optimizes toward the goals you set rather than a generic best-seller rule. **Q: How do I improve product merchandising on my Shopify store?** A: Start by deciding what a winning collection looks like — more revenue, higher margin, faster sell-through, or cleared overstock — then let merchandising run on data instead of manual reordering. With Kimonix you set that strategy once and it continuously reorders collections using 100+ signals (sales, margin, variant-level stock, returns, reviews) and personalizes per shopper, so your strongest products surface automatically and stay current as the data changes. **Q: Is Kimonix good for ecommerce merchandising?** A: Kimonix is a Shopify-native ecommerce merchandising platform used by fashion and retail brands including KARL LAGERFELD, Goldbergh, and Poppy Barley. It replaces manual collection sorting with automated, data-driven merchandising across 100+ parameters, adds 1:1 personalization and A/B testing, and reports the conversion and revenue impact — so brands can merchandise like a much larger team without the manual overhead. ## Collection Manager Source: https://www.kimonix.com/platform/collection-manager **Smart, Automated Shopify Collections** — Shopify collections group your products into shoppable pages — and Kimonix makes them smart. You set the logic using 100+ granular parameters (tags, attributes, sales performance, variant-level stock, returns, reviews, personalization, and more), and the collection populates and re-sorts dynamically as products and data change — so it stays accurate and profit-optimized without ongoing manual work. **Q: How is a smart collection different from a manual one?** A: A manual collection is a fixed list you add to and reorder by hand — it goes stale the moment products sell out, prices change, or seasons shift. A Shopify smart collection is rule-driven, built on the same 100+ granular parameters (sales, margin, variant-level stock, returns, reviews, and more): it automatically adds and removes matching products and re-sorts them on live data. So instead of re-curating 'Summer Best-Sellers' every week, the collection maintains itself, always showing the right in-stock, on-strategy products. **Q: How do I organize products on my Shopify store?** A: Define the rules for what belongs in each collection — by tag, attribute, price, stock, performance, and more — and Kimonix builds and maintains the collection for you, adding and removing products automatically as your catalog changes. Instead of dragging products between collections by hand, you organize once at the rule level and every matching collection stays accurate on its own, even across a large catalog. **Q: Can Kimonix manage large product catalogs?** A: Yes — that's where it earns its keep. Because collections are rule-driven rather than hand-built, a store with thousands of SKUs can keep every collection accurate and on-strategy without a dedicated team. Rules and smart templates apply consistently across the whole catalog, and collections update themselves as products, stock, and performance change. **Q: How do I stop sold-out products from showing first in my Shopify collections?** A: Kimonix keeps out-of-stock and low-stock products from cluttering the top of a collection automatically — its rules and sorting read variant-level stock in real time, so sold-out items sink or drop out of the collection instead of greeting shoppers first. You don't re-sort by hand; as inventory changes, the collection re-orders itself to keep available products in front. **Q: Can I pin and arrange products on collection pages?** A: Yes. You keep full manual control where you want it — pin specific products to fixed positions (a hero product, a promoted line) while the automated strategy arranges everything around them. It's the best of both: hand-place the products that matter for merchandising or campaigns, and let the engine order the rest on live data. **Q: Do I need to build each collection from scratch?** A: No. Smart sorting templates let you apply proven strategies — like personalization, best-sellers, or new arrivals — to a collection in a single action, then fine-tune the parameters if you want. It's far faster than configuring rules from zero for every collection, and it means even large catalogs can be organized consistently without a dedicated team. **Q: Can I customize collections for different markets?** A: Yes — you can tailor collections per market or country, so shoppers in each region see products, availability, and ordering that fit their locale rather than one global arrangement. It's driven by the same rule engine, so market-specific collections stay automated and up to date instead of being maintained by hand. **Q: Can I see how my collections perform?** A: Yes — the collection manager includes collection- and product-level analytics, so you can see how each one performs and which products drive results. That closes the loop: you can spot underperforming collections, understand why, and adjust your rules or segmentation based on data rather than guesswork. **Q: What's the best app for managing collections on Shopify?** A: Kimonix is a Shopify-native collection management platform for brands that have outgrown manual collections. It builds smart, rule-driven collections that populate and re-sort themselves across 100+ parameters, handles large catalogs and per-market variations, and reports collection-level performance — so teams manage collections by strategy, not by dragging products around. Brands like True Classic, Lime Crime, and Filling Pieces run their collections on it. **Q: Is Kimonix good for building Shopify smart collections?** A: Yes — building and maintaining smart Shopify collections is its core job. It goes well beyond Shopify's native automated collections: membership and product order both update from 100+ live parameters, you can pin products, apply templates, customize by market, and measure performance. The result is collections that stay accurate and on-strategy automatically, at any catalog size. ## Product Recommendations Source: https://www.kimonix.com/platform/product-recommendations **Product Recommendations Shoppers Can't Resist** — Product recommendations show each shopper the items they're most likely to buy — on any page of your store. Unlike basic 'related products' widgets, Kimonix weighs 100+ granular parameters — margin, variant-level stock, returns, and review data alongside shopper behavior — so recommendations don't just drive clicks; they steer shoppers toward products that are profitable and in stock. **Q: How does Kimonix decide which products to recommend?** A: It combines each shopper's behavior — what they've viewed, added, and bought — with profit logic across 100+ granular parameters (margin, variant-level stock, returns, reviews, and more). Two shoppers see different products tuned to their tastes, but always weighted toward items that are in stock and worth selling. For first-time visitors with no history, it falls back to strong defaults like best-sellers or frequently-bought-together. **Q: Where can I place recommendation elements?** A: Anywhere it helps conversion: home, collection, product, and cart pages. You can add them as carousels, galleries, or custom elements, and place them at peak-conversion points — 'complete the look' on product pages, 'you may also like' in the cart, or curated rows on the homepage. Each element auto-adjusts to your theme so it looks native wherever it sits. **Q: Do I have to design recommendation elements from scratch?** A: No. Smart templates — personalization, recently viewed, frequently bought together, and more — let you launch an advanced recommendation strategy in a single action. The designs automatically match your store's theme and you keep full control over what information each element shows, so you get a polished, on-brand result without custom development. **Q: Does Kimonix offer AI product recommendations?** A: Yes — the recommendations are AI-driven. Kimonix learns from each shopper's behavior and your store's live performance data to predict what each visitor is most likely to buy, and sharpens those predictions over time. Crucially, the AI is weighted by your profit-aware parameters (margin, stock, returns), so AI product recommendations optimize for profitable, in-stock sales rather than clicks alone. **Q: Can I measure how recommendations perform?** A: Yes. Advanced analytics track the performance of every recommendation element, so you can see which placements and strategies drive clicks, add-to-carts, and revenue, and refine accordingly. That turns recommendations from a 'set and forget' widget into a measurable merchandising lever you can continuously improve. **Q: What's the best product recommendation app for Shopify?** A: Kimonix is a product recommendation app built for Shopify and Shopify Plus that treats recommendations as a profit lever, not just a related-items widget. It personalizes 1:1 across the store, weighs 100+ merchandising parameters so it recommends what's profitable and in stock, ships smart templates, and reports revenue impact. Brands like KARL LAGERFELD, Angela Reed, TLF Apparel, Ahead Nutrition, and Bally use it for recommendations. **Q: What's the best product recommendation app for Shopify fashion and apparel brands?** A: For fashion and apparel brands, Kimonix turns recommendations into revenue: it shows each shopper the pieces they're most likely to buy, personalized 1:1 and weighted toward what's actually in stock in the right sizes — so you're never pushing sold-out or low-margin items. Brands including KARL LAGERFELD, TLF Apparel, and Bally use it. **Q: Is Kimonix good for product recommendations on Shopify?** A: Yes — personalized product recommendations are one of its core capabilities. It places recommendation elements anywhere on your store, personalizes them per shopper with AI, keeps them weighted toward profitable, in-stock products, and measures the revenue each element drives — so recommendations become a measurable part of your merchandising, not a bolt-on. ## Cross-Selling Source: https://www.kimonix.com/platform/cross-selling **Show Related Products That Lift Order Value** — Related products are the items a shopper is likely to buy alongside what they're viewing. Kimonix surfaces them right on your collection-page product cards — frequently-bought-together picks that lift average order value without interrupting the shopping journey. ### Enhanced Shopping Experience Get your customers to engage and actively discover more products without interfering with their shopping journey. ### How does Kimonix choose related products? Unleash the power of AI-driven insights to analyze your customers' buying habits and tailor your marketing efforts for a better shopping experience. ### Appealing Design Offer a modern and seamless shopping experience on your collection page with designs that integrate effortlessly with your store's theme. ### Cross-Selling — FAQ **Q: What does Kimonix cross-selling do?** A: It adds personalized cross-sell recommendations to your collection and product pages — surfacing complementary products at the moments shoppers are most likely to add them — to lift average order value. Rather than generic 'related items', the suggestions are based on real customer behavior and purchase patterns, and they're placed at peak-conversion points so they feel helpful rather than pushy. **Q: How do I add related products to my Shopify store?** A: Kimonix adds related products to your collection and product pages as personalized cross-sell elements — no manual pairing or theme code. It surfaces complementary items based on real customer behavior and purchase patterns at high-intent moments (a 'complete the set' prompt beside a product, or related items in the collection grid), so shoppers discover more and average order value rises. **Q: How are cross-sells chosen?** A: They're driven by customer behavior and purchase patterns — which products are genuinely bought or viewed together — rather than manual pairings. Each shopper sees complementary items they're realistically likely to add, and the suggestions improve over time as the system learns from more of your store's data. **Q: Where do cross-sell recommendations appear?** A: Primarily on collection and product pages, rendered as elements that match your store's theme. They're positioned at high-intent moments — alongside a product a shopper is considering, or as a 'complete the set' prompt — so they catch attention without disrupting the browsing flow. **Q: How do I increase average order value on Shopify?** A: The most reliable lever is showing each shopper the right complementary product at the right moment. Kimonix does that automatically — it places behavior-based related products and 'complete the set' prompts on collection and product pages, weighted toward items that are in stock and worth selling, so baskets grow without discounting. You then track the added revenue per element and refine what works. **Q: Will it match my store's design?** A: Yes. The cross-sell elements auto-adjust to your store's theme — fonts, colors, and layout — so they look like a native part of your storefront rather than a bolted-on widget. You also control what details each element displays, keeping the experience consistent and on-brand. **Q: Can I measure cross-sell performance?** A: Yes — analytics track how each cross-sell element performs, showing the clicks, add-to-carts, and added revenue it drives. You can see which placements and product pairings work best and refine them, so your collection and product pages keep getting better at lifting average order value. **Q: What's the best Shopify app for cross-selling and upsells?** A: Kimonix approaches cross-selling as merchandising, not pop-ups: behavior-based related products placed natively on collection and product pages, weighted toward profitable, in-stock items, with reporting on the revenue they add. It's part of the same engine that sorts your collections, so cross-sells stay consistent with the rest of your merchandising. Brands like JD Sports and EME Studios use it. **Q: What's the best Shopify upsell and cross-sell app for fashion brands?** A: Kimonix helps fashion brands lift average order value by nudging shoppers to add the complementary piece — the top that goes with the skirt, the belt with the dress. It places 'complete the set' and related-product suggestions natively on your collection and product pages, picked from how your customers actually shop and weighted toward in-stock, profitable items — not discount-driven pop-ups. Brands like JD Sports and EME Studios use it. **Q: Is Kimonix good for cross-selling on Shopify?** A: Yes — cross-selling is a core part of the platform. It adds personalized related-product and 'complete the set' elements at high-intent moments, chooses them from real purchase behavior, matches your theme, and reports the added order value — so cross-selling becomes a measurable AOV lever rather than a generic widget. ## A/B Testing Source: https://www.kimonix.com/platform/ab-testing **Merchandising Analytics & A/B Testing for Shopify** — Ecommerce merchandising analytics show you which sorting and merchandising strategies actually sell. Kimonix runs built-in, automated A/B tests on your collections — with zero manual effort — so you can prove what lifts conversion and revenue, then roll out the winner. ### How does A/B testing for collections work? Explore various sorting strategies and test them in real-time to determine which delivers the strongest results. You can use testing to uncover the optimal plan for your overall merchandising strategy. ### Build a Smart Testing Strategy Unleash the power of AI-driven insights to analyze your customers' buying habits and tailor your marketing efforts for a better shopping experience. ### A/B Testing — FAQ **Q: What can I A/B test with Kimonix?** A: You can test different collection sorting strategies head-to-head — across Kimonix's 100+ granular parameters (sales, margin, variant-level stock, returns, reviews, personalization) — to see which product ordering actually drives the most conversions and profit, rather than assuming. For example, pit a best-sellers-first strategy against a margin-weighted or returns-aware one on the same collection, and let real shopper behavior decide the winner. **Q: How does merchandising A/B testing work?** A: Kimonix serves competing strategies to comparable groups of shoppers and measures how each performs on the metrics that matter — conversion, revenue, and engagement. Because both variants run on live traffic at the same time, you're comparing like-for-like and removing seasonality and guesswork. When a clear winner emerges, you roll it out with confidence. **Q: How do I test which product order works best on Shopify?** A: Set up two ordering strategies for the same collection — say new-arrivals-first versus margin-weighted — and Kimonix splits live traffic between them and tracks which drives more conversions and revenue. You're measuring real shopper behavior on your actual store, so the winning product order is proven by data rather than chosen by opinion. **Q: Do I need developer help to run tests?** A: No. A/B testing is built into the app — you configure the strategies you want to compare and Kimonix handles the traffic split and measurement. There's no code, tagging, or separate testing tool to wire up, so merchandising teams can run experiments themselves and iterate quickly. **Q: How do I measure merchandising performance on Shopify?** A: Kimonix provides ecommerce merchandising analytics at the collection and product level — conversion, revenue, sell-through, and how each sorting strategy affects them. Paired with A/B testing, that means you don't just see what happened; you can prove which merchandising decisions caused it, and know whether your sorting is genuinely helping sales rather than guessing. **Q: How do I know which strategy won?** A: Collection data and analytics show each strategy's performance side by side, so you can see which ordering produced more conversions and revenue and make the call on data rather than opinion. Once you've identified the winner you apply it as the live strategy — and you can keep testing new ideas against it over time. **Q: What's the best Shopify app for A/B testing collection pages?** A: Kimonix has A/B testing built directly into its merchandising engine, so you test the thing that actually matters — how products are ordered on a collection page — not just theme tweaks. Tests run on live traffic with no code, results report against conversion and revenue, and the winner deploys in a click. Brands like Goldbergh and Dossier have used it to prove merchandising lifts. **Q: Does Kimonix offer A/B testing and merchandising analytics?** A: Yes — both, and they work together. You A/B test competing sorting strategies on live traffic, and ecommerce merchandising analytics report the conversion, revenue, and sell-through impact at collection and product level. It turns merchandising from guesswork into a measured, continuously-improving loop — without a separate testing tool or developer setup. ## Ecommerce Personalization Source: https://www.kimonix.com/platform/personalized-emails **Ecommerce Personalization for Shopify** — Ecommerce personalization tailors what each shopper sees to their behavior and preferences. It draws on the same merchandising data as your storefront (sales, inventory, and behavior), and integrates with providers including Klaviyo, Yotpo, and Mailchimp. **Q: Can it help with ads too?** A: Yes. The same data-driven product picks that power your emails can inform your advertising — promoting the right products to the right audiences and feeding better-performing items into campaigns. It extends your merchandising intelligence beyond the storefront into paid channels, so what you push externally matches what's actually selling and profitable. **Q: How are the product picks chosen?** A: They're driven by your real-time sales, inventory, and customer data — the same engine behind on-site sorting and recommendations. The products featured in a campaign reflect what's currently in stock, profitable, and relevant to each recipient, rather than a static list that goes stale between sends. **Q: Can I see how the personalized emails perform?** A: Yes — Kimonix's analytics show how your personalized product blocks perform across campaigns, so you can see which recommendations drive clicks and revenue and refine your strategy. It closes the loop between your store data and your marketing, rather than sending and hoping. ## Pricing Source: https://www.kimonix.com/pricing Pricing is based on average monthly orders, not catalog size. The recommendations are driven by the same logic that powers Kimonix's on-site merchandising — factoring in real-time customer behavior, inventory, and product data — so your email campaigns work in sync with your broader product discovery strategy, turning more discovery moments into sales. **Q: Is Nosto worth the cost for Shopify brands?** A: It depends on what you need. Nosto is a powerful platform with a broad feature set, but it comes with custom contracts that can run into five figures annually — an investment that's easier to justify when you're using the full suite across search, content, recommendations, and personalization. For Shopify brands whose primary challenge is product discovery — merchandising, recommendations, and search — much of Nosto's broader capability may go underutilized. In that case, a more focused platform like Kimonix — with transparent, accessible pricing and a purpose-built Shopify integration that covers all three discovery pillars — may deliver better ROI for the specific problems you're trying to solve. **Q: What is the best merchandising platform for Shopify?** A: The best platform for Shopify depends on the scope of what you need. For brands that want collection merchandising, product recommendations, and AI search working together from a single Shopify-native platform — with no developer involvement — Kimonix is purpose-built for that job. For brands that need merchandising as part of a broader personalization and CX suite spanning content, pop-ups, and multi-platform infrastructure, Nosto could be worth evaluating, though it comes at a significantly higher price point. **Q: Does Kimonix work for Shopify Plus brands?** A: Yes — Kimonix is built for both Shopify and Shopify Plus merchants, and is particularly well-suited to Shopify Plus brands with large catalogs and complex collection management needs. Its Shopify Markets support also makes it a strong fit for Shopify Plus brands selling across multiple regions, enabling location-specific merchandising without any developer involvement. **Q: Can Kimonix replace Nosto for collection sorting?** A: For collection sorting specifically, Kimonix is the more purpose-built solution. While Nosto offers category page merchandising as part of its platform, collection sorting is one of Kimonix's core pillars — with more granular multi-rule sorting logic, built-in A/B testing, automated re-sorting, and Shopify Markets support for location-specific merchandising. Brands that have been using Nosto primarily for collection management and find themselves paying for a broader suite they don't fully utilize often find Kimonix to be a more focused, cost-effective alternative that also brings recommendations and AI search into the same platform. **Q: Does Kimonix have AI search?** A: Yes. Kimonix's AI Search and Shopping Agent is the third pillar of its product discovery platform. It's a conversational search tool that understands natural language queries, lets shoppers add products to their cart directly inside the chat, and syncs in real time with the store cart. It works automatically across 50+ languages with no additional setup, and a built-in analytics dashboard tracks conversations, cart adds, conversion rates, and revenue influenced by the agent. It's available as your store's primary search or as a floating assistant. ## Kimonix vs. Algolia: Which Platform Is Right for Your Shopify Store? Source: https://www.kimonix.comhttps://www.kimonix.com/compare/kimonix-vs-algolia Kimonix and Algolia both power product discovery, but they're built for different teams. Kimonix is a Shopify-native, no-code platform that unifies collection merchandising, product recommendations, and AI search — owned by your merchandising team, with a 14-day free trial and transparent pricing. Algolia is a developer-first search and discovery API: best-in-class search infrastructure you build on, across any platform, with usage-based pricing. Choose Kimonix if you want a finished product discovery platform your team can run without engineering. Algolia is the better fit if you have a development team building a custom, multi-platform discovery experience. - **Kimonix** is a no-code Shopify platform owned by merchandisers; **Algolia** is a developer-first search & discovery API across platforms. - Algolia's search is best-in-class, but it takes engineering to implement and maintain; Kimonix is plug-and-play in minutes. - Kimonix treats margin, inventory, returns, and variant-level stock as native sort signals; in Algolia you index and sync that data yourself. - Pricing: Kimonix is published and order-based (14-day free trial); Algolia is usage-based on records and requests, which is harder to forecast. **Q: What is the difference between Kimonix and Algolia?** A: Kimonix is a Shopify-native product discovery platform that brings together collection merchandising, personalized product recommendations, and AI-powered search in one place — operated by your merchandising team with no developer involvement required. Algolia is a developer-first search and discovery API that powers search, recommendations, and merchandising across many platforms, integrated and customized through code. Kimonix is the stronger fit for Shopify brands that want a finished, no-code product discovery platform; Algolia suits engineering-led teams building a bespoke discovery experience across one or more platforms. **Q: Is Algolia overkill for a Shopify store?** A: It depends on your team. Algolia is exceptionally powerful search infrastructure, and for stores with engineering resources and a need for highly customized, multi-platform discovery, that power is justified. But for many Shopify brands whose primary need is collection merchandising, recommendations, and search that their merchandising team can own without a development project, much of Algolia's flexibility goes unused while the implementation and maintenance cost remains. In that case, a Shopify-native, no-code platform like Kimonix often delivers better ROI for the specific problem you're solving. **Q: Does Kimonix require a developer like Algolia does?** A: No. Kimonix installs directly through Shopify and operates entirely within the Shopify admin — no theme changes, no coding, and no implementation project. The AI Search and Shopping Agent takes about five minutes to set up. Algolia, by contrast, is API-first: realizing its depth typically involves indexing your catalog, building or customizing the search UI, and ongoing maintenance — work that requires engineering resources. For headless Shopify stores, Kimonix may need some developer involvement, but for the vast majority of Shopify and Shopify Plus stores there's no technical heavy lifting. **Q: Can Kimonix sort collections by margin and inventory like a custom Algolia setup?** A: Yes — and it treats those as native signals rather than data you have to engineer in. Kimonix's AMS engine sorts on 100+ parameters out of the box, including margin, real-time inventory, variant-level stock, return rates, reviews, conversion, and behavior. With Algolia you can rank on custom attributes like margin or stock, but only after you push that data into the index and keep it in sync — which is development work. Kimonix gives a merchandiser profit- and inventory-aware sorting without a data pipeline. **Q: Is Algolia's search better than Kimonix's?** A: For raw search engineering — latency, typo tolerance, vector search, and configurability at massive scale — Algolia is best-in-class, and it's fair to say so. Kimonix's AI Search and Shopping Agent optimizes for a different outcome: it's a conversational shopping agent that understands natural language, lets shoppers add to cart inside the chat, syncs with the store cart in real time, works across 50+ languages, and reports the revenue it influences — all installed in minutes with no engineering. The question isn't purely "which search is faster," it's whether you want search infrastructure to build on (Algolia) or a ready-to-run shopping agent that drives and measures revenue (Kimonix). **Q: How does Kimonix pricing compare to Algolia?** A: Kimonix publishes order-based pricing on its website and the Shopify App Store, with a 14-day free trial to start and paid tiers that scale with your average monthly orders — predictable and tied to business performance. Algolia uses usage-based pricing, primarily on records (indexed items) and search requests, with a free tier, mid tiers, and custom enterprise contracts at scale. The practical difference: Kimonix gives you a published price tied to orders, while Algolia's cost scales with search traffic, catalog size, and any extra products (Recommend, Personalization) — which can be harder to forecast. Depict: All-In-One Product Discovery or Visual Merchandising — Which Does Your Shopify Store Actually Need? Source: https://www.kimonix.comhttps://www.kimonix.com/compare/kimonix-vs-depict Kimonix and Depict both improve product discovery on Shopify, but they're built around different ideas. Kimonix is a Shopify-native platform that unifies collection merchandising, personalized product recommendations, and AI search — with no code required, a 14-day free trial, and transparent published pricing that scales by orders. Depict is a visual-first discovery platform focused on storefront experience, offering design-forward merchandising tools and GPT-powered search. Choose Kimonix if you're on Shopify and want a single profit-weighted platform covering the full discovery stack. Depict is the better fit if visual presentation is your primary driver or you're operating outside the native Shopify ecosystem on a platform like Centra. - **Kimonix** is an all-in-one, data-driven product discovery platform; **Depict** is a visual-first discovery and storefront-experience tool. - Kimonix's collection merchandising weighs margin, inventory, returns, and 100+ signals; Depict leads on visual and editorial storefront tooling. - Kimonix includes recommendations and Klaviyo email from one profit-aware engine; Depict doesn't offer email. - Both publish tiered pricing — Kimonix is order-based with a 14-day free trial (A/B testing on Superior), Depict is session-based with a free plan (A/B testing on Pro). **Q: What is the difference between Kimonix and Depict?** A: Kimonix is a Shopify-native product discovery platform that brings together collection merchandising, personalized product recommendations, and AI-powered search in one place — with no developer involvement required. Depict is a visual discovery platform focused on storefront experience, offering AI-powered search, smart sorting, and design-forward visual merchandising tools. Kimonix is the stronger fit for Shopify brands that want a unified product discovery platform — including fashion and lifestyle brands that want data-driven merchandising without sacrificing visual appeal. Depict is a fit for brands whose primary need is a dedicated visual storefront and search experience, where a single profit-weighted platform running every pillar from the same logic is more than the situation requires. **Q: Does Depict work for Shopify stores?** A: Yes. Depict offers a Shopify app with a free plan and tiered paid pricing listed publicly on its website and the Shopify App Store. It also supports headless stacks and Centra-powered stores, making it a more flexible option for brands operating outside the native Shopify ecosystem. For brands fully committed to Shopify, however, Kimonix's deeper native integration and unified discovery platform may be the more purpose-built fit. **Q: Can Kimonix replace Depict for collection merchandising?** A: For most Shopify brands, yes. Kimonix's collection merchandising capabilities are more purpose-built for the job — with profit-weighted multi-rule sorting, full automation, built-in A/B testing, and Shopify Markets support for location-specific merchandising. Where Depict has an edge is in its visual toolset: content blocks, custom image selectors, and drag-and-drop reordering give design-forward teams more creative control over how collections look. But if your primary need is making collections perform better as part of a unified product discovery strategy, Kimonix is the stronger solution. **Q: Which platform is better for Shopify brands that want a unified product discovery solution?** A: Kimonix. It's the only platform of the two that covers all three pillars of product discovery — collection merchandising, personalized recommendations, and AI search — in a single Shopify-native platform that requires no developer involvement. That means your entire discovery strategy is working from the same data, the same logic, and the same platform — without the overhead of managing multiple tools. **Q: Which platform is better for Shopify brands focused on profitability?** A: Kimonix. While both platforms support product discovery, Kimonix is the only one of the two that factors profitability directly into its logic — surfacing products based on margin, inventory levels, return rates, and real-time behavioral data, not just conversion signals. That logic runs across collection sorting, product recommendations, and personalized email, so every part of your discovery strategy is working toward the same business goal. **Q: Does Kimonix have AI search?** A: Yes. Kimonix's AI Search and Shopping Agent is a conversational search tool that understands natural language queries, lets shoppers add products to their cart directly inside the chat, and syncs in real time with the store cart. It works automatically across 50+ languages with no additional setup, and a built-in analytics dashboard tracks conversations, cart adds, conversion rates, and revenue influenced by the agent. It's available as your store's primary search or as a floating assistant. **Q: Does Kimonix integrate with Klaviyo?** A: Yes. Kimonix integrates directly with Klaviyo, allowing Shopify brands to embed personalized product recommendations into their email campaigns. Those recommendations are driven by the same profit-weighted logic that powers Kimonix's on-site merchandising — factoring in customer behavior, margin, and inventory — so your email campaigns are working in sync with the rest of your product discovery strategy. **Q: How quickly can you get started with Kimonix?** A: Quickly. Kimonix installs directly through Shopify and operates entirely within the Shopify admin — no theme changes, no developer involvement, no implementation project to manage. The AI Search and Shopping Agent takes approximately five minutes to set up. For most brands, the gap between deciding to move forward and having the platform live and working is measured in days, not weeks or months. ## Kimonix vs. Tagalys: Both Built for Fashion Brands on Shopify — But With Different Outcomes Source: https://www.kimonix.comhttps://www.kimonix.com/compare/kimonix-vs-tagalys Kimonix and Tagalys both serve fashion brands on Shopify and cover collections, search, and recommendations — but they optimize for different outcomes. Kimonix is an all-in-one, profit-driven product discovery platform that unifies merchandising, personalization, and AI search in one plan, built to turn discovery into sales — with a 14-day free trial and published order-based pricing. Tagalys is a fashion-first merchandising tool with strong visual controls — Sequences, version drafts, scheduling — and a custom, visitor-based quote. Choose Kimonix if you want product discovery to work as a measurable revenue driver. Tagalys is the better fit if visual storytelling and editorial control over your storefront are your primary focus. - Both serve fashion brands on Shopify; **Kimonix** optimizes product discovery for sales, **Tagalys** for visual merchandising control. - Kimonix sorting factors profitability signals — margin, returns, inventory, variant-level stock; Tagalys leads on Sequences and editorial visual storytelling. - Kimonix bundles merchandising, recommendations, and search in one published plan; Tagalys is a feature-selected custom quote. - Pricing: Kimonix is order-based from $19/mo (14-day free trial); Tagalys is visitor-based from ~$89/mo (28-day trial). **Q: What is the difference between Kimonix and Tagalys?** A: Both platforms serve fashion brands on Shopify and cover collections, search, and recommendations — but they're built around different outcomes. Kimonix is an all-in-one product discovery platform where merchandising, personalization, and search work together from a single plan, oriented around turning product discovery into sales. Tagalys is a fashion merchandising platform with strong visual tooling and a feature-based structure, built for teams that want granular control over the storefront experience. For fashion brands on Shopify that want all three pillars of product discovery working together to drive measurable revenue, Kimonix is purpose-built for that job. **Q: Is Tagalys only for fashion brands?** A: Tagalys is explicitly positioned for fashion and lifestyle brands — its toolset, analytics, and visual merchandising features are all built with that vertical in mind. Kimonix predominantly serves fashion and lifestyle brands, but its product discovery platform is built around driving sales outcomes across any B2C brand on Shopify with a large catalog and complex collection management needs. **Q: Does Kimonix work without a developer?** A: Yes. Kimonix installs directly through Shopify and operates entirely within the Shopify admin — no theme changes, no frontend code, and no developer tickets required. The AI Search and Shopping Agent takes approximately five minutes to set up. For headless Shopify implementations, some developer involvement may be required, but for the vast majority of Shopify and Shopify Plus stores, you'll be up and running without any technical heavy lifting. **Q: Which platform is better for product recommendations on Shopify?** A: Kimonix. Its product recommendations are a core feature of the platform — powered by real-time session data and layered with business performance signals like margin and inventory — included in the plan and running on the same logic as collection sorting, with a direct Klaviyo connection so on-site recs and email work from one playbook. Tagalys also offers recommendations and email-based recommendations, configured within its feature-selected custom plan; the difference is how unified and profit-weighted Kimonix's approach is, not whether the capability exists. **Q: Does Kimonix or Tagalys integrate with Klaviyo?** A: Both platforms bring recommendations into email. Kimonix's Klaviyo integration is built in as a core feature on the Superior plan — your personalized email campaigns are powered by the same logic that drives your on-site merchandising and recommendations. Tagalys offers email-based recommendations as part of its feature-selected plan. For fashion brands where email is a meaningful revenue channel, Kimonix's approach keeps your entire discovery strategy — on-site and in the inbox — working from one consistent playbook. **Q: How long does it take to get started with Kimonix?** A: You'll be able to get started quickly. **Q: How does Kimonix pricing compare to Tagalys?** A: Kimonix pricing is based on your average monthly orders, with a 14-day free trial to start and paid plans from $19/month ($15/month billed annually) — all three pillars (merchandising, personalization, and search) included within a single plan. Tagalys is custom-quoted based on monthly unique visitors and the features you choose, starting around $89/month. The practical difference: Kimonix gives you a published, order-based price upfront, while Tagalys scopes a visitor-based quote around the features you select. ## Nosto alternative Source: https://www.kimonix.com/alternatives/nosto Why Shopify Brands Choose Kimonix Over Nosto — Kimonix goes deep where it pays off: granular collection merchandising, 1:1 personalization, and an AI shopping assistant and search that convert browsers into buyers — built natively for Shopify. - **Granular collection merchandising on 100+ data parameters**: Sort each collection on **100+ data parameters** — conversion rate, revenue, real-time shopper behavior, inventory and variant-level stock — with rule-based strategies you set per collection and validate with [collection A/B testing](/platform/ab-testing). It's built for that move too. ## Algolia alternative Source: https://www.kimonix.com/alternatives/algolia Why Shopify Brands Choose Kimonix Over Algolia — Kimonix gives your merchandising team a finished, no-code product discovery platform — granular collection merchandising, 1:1 personalization, and an AI shopping assistant and search that convert browsers into buyers, live in minutes without engineering. It's a depth of merchandising control that converts browsers into buyers. - **Owned by merchandisers, not engineering**: Re-sort a collection, fix a search result, launch a strategy — in the Shopify admin, with no code and no developer ticket. The team that knows the products controls what shoppers see, instead of waiting on an engineering backlog. - **Business signals are native, not a data pipeline**: Margin, inventory, variant-level stock, returns and reviews are built-in sort signals, out of the box. With a search API you'd have to index that data and keep it in sync — with Kimonix it just works. - **Live in minutes, without developers**: Install from the Shopify App Store and the [AI shopping assistant](/platform/agent) is live in about five minutes — no indexing project, no custom UI build, no ongoing maintenance. - **A shopping assistant that sells**: The conversational [AI shopping assistant](/platform/agent) understands natural-language queries and lets shoppers buy right inside the chat, syncs the cart in real time, works in 50+ languages, and reports the revenue it drives. - **Predictable, order-based pricing**: A **14-day free trial and published tiers** priced by your monthly orders — not usage-based billing on records and search requests that scales with traffic and catalog and is hard to forecast. ## Depict alternative Source: https://www.kimonix.com/alternatives/depict Why Shopify Brands Choose Kimonix Over Depict — Kimonix builds collections that look great and sell: granular, data-driven collection merchandising, 1:1 personalization, and an AI shopping assistant and search in one Shopify-native platform — not just a visual layer. It's a depth of merchandising control that converts browsers into buyers. - **Looks good and sells**: You don't have to choose between a visually compelling collection and one that performs. Kimonix factors conversion, revenue, returns and real-time behavior so what looks great is also what's right to sell. - **1:1 personalization across collections and recommendations**: The same real-time, shopper-level personalization powers both your [collection sorting](/platform/collection-sorting) and your [product recommendations](/platform/product-recommendations) — so every shopper sees the right products, in the right order, everywhere they browse. - **Recommendations and email from one engine**: Your on-site [recommendations](/platform/product-recommendations) and your Klaviyo email run on the same logic — so they're always in sync. Depict doesn't include email personalization. - **A shopping assistant that sells**: Kimonix has agentic search too — but its [AI shopping assistant](/platform/agent) goes further: it understands natural-language queries and lets shoppers buy right inside the chat, syncs the cart in real time, works in 50+ languages, and reports the revenue it drives. - **Predictable, order-based pricing**: A **14-day free trial and published tiers** priced by your monthly orders — not monthly sessions that spike with traffic and ad spend — and [A/B testing](/platform/ab-testing) arrives on Superior, not a top tier. ## Tagalys alternative Source: https://www.kimonix.com/alternatives/tagalys Why Shopify Brands Choose Kimonix Over Tagalys — Kimonix turns product discovery into sales for fashion brands — granular, data-driven collection merchandising, 1:1 personalization, and an AI shopping assistant and search in one published plan, not a custom visual-merchandising quote. It's a depth of merchandising control that converts browsers into buyers. - **Collection merchandising that drives sales, not just looks**: Sorting weighs conversion, revenue, returns and real-time behavior — so collections surface what's best to sell, not only what looks good on the page. - **A shopping assistant that sells**: The conversational [AI shopping assistant](/platform/agent) understands natural-language queries and lets shoppers buy right inside the chat, syncs the cart in real time, works in 50+ languages, and reports the revenue it drives. - **Everything in one published plan**: Collection merchandising, recommendations, and search come bundled in a transparent, order-based plan — priced by your monthly orders, then fixed for your plan — not a custom, feature-selected quote scoped to monthly visitors. - **Recommendations and email from one engine**: On-site [recommendations](/platform/product-recommendations) and Klaviyo email run on the same logic, so what your store promotes and what your list receives stay in sync. # Case studies ## KARL LAGERFELD (Luxury Fashion) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/karl-lagerfeld Results: ~100 Category & Listing Pages Live at Launch · 0 Developer Dependencies Post-Launch As part of a strategic move to increase agility and business autonomy, KARL LAGERFELD migrated from Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Shopify. During the move they wanted to get ahead of a common hurdle that enterprise retailers often face when migrating: Having to manually rebuild their entire product logic. Instead, KARL LAGERFELD looked for a solution that would keep their complex merchandising rules intact when moving to Shopify, without heavy implementation or relying on developers. There was only one logical option: Kimonix. **Challenge:** On Salesforce, KARL LAGERFELD had relied on complex product sorting and category rules that required heavy technical setup to manage. Every adjustment meant pulling in IT or external developers. When moving to Shopify, those same merchandising rules did not exist by default and risked being lost entirely. The challenge was: **Solution:** With Kimonix, KARL LAGERFELD was able to handle complex product sorting and category logic directly inside Shopify, without custom code, middleware, or frontend tools. **Results:** Thanks to using Kimonix as part of their Salesforce to Shopify migration, they had ~100 category and listing pages live at launch and gained full visibility into listing page performance (CTR metrics). After launch, KARL LAGERFELD's business team could continuously manage merchandising themselves across markets with consistent results and no performance issues. They can now: Key takeaways: - Matched existing Salesforce merchandising complexity without rebuilding from scratch - Supported global fashion direction while allowing local market differences - Premium fashion setup without frontend compromises - Business team manages merchandising independently across markets ## Goldbergh (Premium Ski & Outdoor Fashion) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/goldbergh Results: +22% Conversion Rate Increase · +17.6% Revenue Growth · +15% Sales Quantity Increase Goldbergh is a premium ski and outdoor fashion brand known for its bold aesthetic — rich color stories, distinctive patterns, and a visual identity that's as much a part of the product as the fabric itself. For Goldbergh, color and pattern logic aren't decorative decisions — they're how the brand communicates its identity to shoppers. **Challenge:** Goldbergh's marketing and creative team had mostly sorted collections by aesthetic logic, and with good reason: the brand is the visual experience. But the e-commerce team had a persistent question nobody could answer cleanly — was the aesthetic sort actually helping conversion, or were they just assuming it was? Without proof either way, every merchandising decision came down to whoever made the loudest case in the room. The challenge wasn't choosing between aesthetics and data. It was figuring out whether the two could work together — and what that would actually look like in practice. **Solution:** An A/B test was designed to answer the question directly: does aesthetic sorting hurt conversion, and if so, can the brand's visual logic and data-driven ranking coexist? **Results:** Within 30 days, the A/B test gave Goldbergh a clear verdict — and a new way to merchandise. Key takeaways: - A/B testing resolves internal disagreements that gut feel never can - Aesthetic sorting and data sorting don't have to be in conflict — segments preserve visual logic while data optimizes within it - The right response to a test result isn't always to apply the winner wholesale — sometimes it's to build something smarter ## Poppy Barley (Luxury Footwear & Accessories) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/poppy-barley Results: ~23% of Monthly Revenue Driven by Kimonix Collections · 50+ Kimonix Collections Across the Catalog · 4.6★ Average Rating Across 1,076 Reviews Poppy Barley is a luxury apparel and accessories brand based in Canada, best known for their high-quality shoes and commitment to responsibly made products that deliver all-day comfort at fair prices. They had strong customer love — high ratings, loyal buyers, and authentic reviews. But they knew that social proof could do more than sit on a product page. By integrating Stamped review data directly into Kimonix's sorting logic, they made customer trust an active input into how products are ranked and surfaced — ensuring their best-reviewed products consistently rise to the top. **Challenge:** Poppy Barley had strong customer love — high ratings, loyal buyers, and authentic reviews — but that social proof was static. Reviews lived on PDPs and didn't influence how products were ranked across collections. They needed a way to turn customer trust into an active merchandising signal, not a passive trust badge — so the products their customers vouched for most would consistently surface across the entire shopping experience. **Solution:** Poppy Barley connected Stamped's review data directly to Kimonix's sorting engine — making social proof an automatic input into how products are ranked across collections and recommendations, not a static element that shoppers have to seek out. Rather than relying on a single metric, their team built a balanced, multi-signal approach: review performance blended with sales velocity, product freshness, and available inventory. The result is a ranking system that continuously surfaces the products customers trust most — without anyone having to manually intervene. Their Footwear collection is a strong example of this in action. Highly rated products rise to the top not just because they sell, but because customers consistently vouch for them. That combination of proven quality and commercial performance is what drives both confidence and conversion. The same logic carries through to product recommendation modules below the PDP — one of the highest-intent moments in the shopper journey. Instead of surfacing generic alternatives, Poppy Barley now automatically surfaces the products with the strongest social proof, meeting shoppers at the point of consideration with options they're most likely to trust. **Results:** Today, review data from Stamped automatically influences product rankings across every Kimonix-managed collection — that's 50+ collections covering Poppy Barley's entire catalog, representing nearly a quarter of their monthly store revenue. Social proof is no longer something Poppy Barley displays — it's something they merchandise with. Customer trust has become a foundational, always-on input into how their entire store surfaces products, automatically and at scale. Key takeaways: - Reviews don't have to live on the PDP — they can become a ranking signal across the entire store - Multi-signal merchandising outperforms single-metric sorting, especially in fashion - Stamped + Kimonix lets brands merchandise with social proof, not just display it - Customer trust becomes an always-on, automated input — no manual curation required ## Kate Hewko (Women's Fashion) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/kate-hewko Results: 178% Revenue Increase · 21% Reduction in Return Rate · 27.6% Improvement in Inventory Health Kate Hewko is a contemporary women's fashion brand known for its curated collections and trend-forward apparel. Focused on delivering both style and quality, the team sought to enhance product discovery and performance across its core collection pages. **Challenge:** The challenge was simple but common: too many products competing for attention, leading to diluted engagement and missed revenue opportunities. To address this, the team tested a new segmented merchandising strategy against their existing setup in a month-long A/B test, tripling its revenue from collection pages. As an additional part of this strategy, Kate Hewko also leveraged return-rate data from Loop as a merchandising parameter. Since incorporating Loop's return data into its collection sorting, the brand has reduced return rates by 21%, helping ensure that increased sales translated into higher-quality, more profitable orders. The original setup factored in conversion rate, sales, and new arrivals, but without inventory-aware sorting. There was also no separate strategy or segment per product, causing competing parameters to clash. **Solution:** Products were divided into dynamic segments, each with its own rules: New products — recently published items, sorted to maximize early visibility and discovery. Best sellers — products with above-average sales and conversion, prioritized to capture high-intent shoppers. Non-moving Inventory — high stock, slower sell-through items, strategically surfaced to improve inventory efficiency. The rest — remaining products, sorted by performance signals. Each segment used performance-based sorting signals such as conversion rate, sales quantity, inventory levels, page views, variants with stock ratios, and returns rate via the Loop integration. By integrating Loop's return data directly into collection sorting, Kate Hewko optimized not just for conversion, but for products that convert and stay sold. **Results:** Over a 30-day A/B test with Kimonix, Kate Hewko's segmented merchandising strategy delivered significant results across revenue, returns, and inventory health. With performance-based segmentation in place, the collection page became a high-converting, inventory-efficient revenue driver. The new segmented strategy aligned how products were displayed with how customers actually shop — turning the collection page into a guided experience, not a product dump. Key takeaways: - Segmented merchandising outperforms one-size-fits-all sorting - Loop's return data turns conversion-only sorting into conversion + retention sorting - Dynamic segments give each product category its own optimization path - Higher revenue and lower returns compound into better profitability per order ## Boyne Country Sports (Outdoor & Sports Retail) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/boyne-country-sports Results: ~2x Gross Profit Growth From Kimonix Collections · +121% Revenue Growth From Kimonix Collections · 29.38% Of Total Store Revenue (up from 13.29%) Rooted in the Boyne Resorts family, Boyne Country Sports is a specialty outdoor and lifestyle retailer selling high-quality gear, apparel, and expert advice for skiing, snowboarding, golf, and year-round adventure activities. They have grown from a small mountain shop in northern Michigan into a trusted retail destination with multiple locations and an integrated role in the Boyne Resorts experience. But with big growth comes big merchandising challenges — a catalog of 20,000+ products across 50+ collections that has to perform every day, especially at peak. **Challenge:** Boyne Country Sports faced a challenge many large-catalog Shopify brands recognize during Black Friday and the holiday season: their top collections were being dominated on peak traffic days by the wrong products — low-margin items, over-discounted products, or items that no longer matched shopper demand or their seasonal profit goals. They needed a solution that would not only automate their collections, but push revenue and profit. Without automation, the team had to manually fix collection orders during peak traffic. That becomes unsustainable during BFCM — manual merchandising can't keep up with the pace. Teams are forced to constantly drag products, adjust tags, or reorder collections while: **Solution:** During the peak holiday season, Boyne Country Sports optimized product discovery and Shopify BFCM merchandising with Kimonix's AI-managed collections. With their Shopify store already optimized for peak traffic and performance by Roswell NYC, a Shopify Platinum Partner agency, the focus shifted to making sure that traffic was being directed toward the right products at the right time. Kimonix added a real-time merchandising layer that continuously reordered collections based on live performance signals — so shoppers always saw what was actually converting and contributing to profit in that moment. Because Kimonix works directly inside Shopify, the solution was quick to implement and easy to manage — even during the most intense sales period of the year. **Results:** During the BFCM and holiday peak, Boyne Country Sports' revenue from Kimonix-managed collections increased by 121%, growing from 13.29% to 29.38% of total store revenue. Nearly one in every three dollars spent during this period came from collections powered by Kimonix. At the same time, gross profit contribution from Kimonix collections nearly doubled — proving the impact extended beyond revenue to sustained profitability. Kimonix-managed collections became one of Boyne's primary revenue drivers during BFCM, not just a supporting channel. As peak traffic increased, more shoppers were guided to the products most likely to convert. And Boyne didn't just sell more — they sold better. Their Shopify AI merchandising prioritized products that protected margin during a period that normally forces retailers to sacrifice profitability. Key takeaways: - Manual collection sorting breaks down at peak traffic — Shopify AI merchandising scales with demand - Real-time, profit-aware sorting prioritizes high-margin products without manual rules - Gross profit can grow during BFCM when collections adapt to live performance signals - A catalog of 20,000+ products and 50+ collections is unmanageable by hand — but automated end-to-end with Kimonix ## Neven Eyewear (Eyewear) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/neven-eyewear Results: 44% Conversion Rate Increase · +16% MoM Sales Increase Neven Eyewear started in a small room on Florida's Space Coast, hand-packing boxes of affordable polarized sunglasses. Their mission was simple: prove that great eyewear doesn't need to cost a fortune. Now shipping millions of pairs worldwide, they've built a community around honest pricing and designs that actually work for real people. But their growth did have one big downside: managing their increasing SKUs in a scalable way. **Challenge:** As their catalog expanded from classic aviators to prescription glasses and blue light blockers, their merchandising managers found keeping collections organized was becoming a substantial problem. This meant store browsers were having to really dig to find what they wanted. Likely causing many first-time potential shoppers to abandon the buying journey early, which can lead to: **Solution:** What Neven Eyewear needed was a way to surface the right products without manually sorting through hundreds of SKUs. And they needed this solution to ensure their sorting was: **Results:** In just 8 weeks, Neven Eyewear saw a 44% conversion rate increase. These substantial results prove that automating the backend doesn't just save time, it drives real, sustained revenue needed for scaling retailers. It's no surprise then that Neven Eyewear plans to keep using Kimonix to scale their merchandising as they grow — freeing up time for them to focus on what they're good at: designing eyewear people actually want to wear. ## SikSilk (Fashion & Streetwear) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/siksilk Results: 67% Share of Total Gross Profit · 31% Monthly Revenue Contribution · 93% App Retention Rate SikSilk is a UK-based fashion brand recognized for their fusion of sportswear and street style. With retail locations and partners throughout the United States, Europe, and Australia, SikSilk has cultivated a worldwide fan base. **Challenge:** Using a competing Shopify merchandising platform, SikSilk was searching for something with the flexibility and intelligence required for real-time, variant-level control. Their merchandising team needed a solution that could: **Solution:** Kimonix equipped SikSilk with advanced collection sorting capabilities, allowing the brand to automatically sort products in real-time based on over 100 parameters, such as: **Results:** Over a period of 30 days, SikSilk's Kimonix-managed collections generated 31% of the brand's total monthly revenue and delivered an impressive 67% of total gross profit. This performance extended seamlessly into SikSilk's Tapcart-powered mobile app, helping the brand maintain an exceptional 93% app retention rate among its most loyal customers. By combining smart automation, dynamic variant-level control, and intuitive merchandising, SikSilk now delivers a more personalized and frictionless shopping experience across all channels. ## Readers.com (Eyewear & Reading Glasses) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/readers Results: +41% Higher Revenue · 36% Higher Conversion Rates · 32% More Units Sold Readers.com is a family-founded brand making reading glasses more affordable, accessible, and enjoyable. A trusted online destination for stylish readers with fast shipping and friendly service. **Challenge:** With hundreds of products and varied customer reading needs, Readers.com faced the challenge of surfacing the right products to the right shoppers — without relying on instinct or spending hours manually reordering collections. Their merchandising strategy was clear but not optimized for sales velocity or profit. They wanted to test a smarter approach before fully committing to a new strategy. **Solution:** Readers.com ran two 30-day A/B tests comparing Kimonix-managed collections versus manually curated ones. Both segments received nearly equal traffic for a fair comparison. Kimonix dynamically sorted collections using real-time store data — considering profit margins, inventory levels, product freshness, and smart segmentation — instead of static lists or guesswork. **Results:** Kimonix-managed collections saw 41% higher revenue, 36% higher conversion rates, 32% more units sold, and 15% more product views. Collections managed by Kimonix enabled smarter conversions, more inventory movement, and increased revenue — all without additional traffic. ## Bally (Luxury Fashion) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/bally Results: 10.7x ROI on App Cost Founded in 1851, online apparel store Bally is best known for blending heritage craftsmanship with modern luxury. From ribbon factory to global icon, its legacy is rooted in quality, tradition, and innovation, while also having a strong commitment to sustainability and mountain conservation, worldwide. It's something you can feel in every aspect of their store, including their online merchandising. **Challenge:** Because of their broad product range, Bally found themselves leaving too much potential inventory movement on the table and were unable to scale their merchandising strategy. The three challenges they were looking to overcome were: **Solution:** Bally implemented Kimonix to power both collection sorting and product recommendations from one centralized platform. **Results:** Since using Kimonix's advanced merchandising tools, Bally is seeing: ## Intersport DK (Sports Retail) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/intersport-dk Results: 93% Increase in AVG Collection CTR · 46% Increase in Average Product Price Intersport DK, part of the global Intersport network, has been a trusted name in sports retail since 1968. With over 60 stores and 700 employees across Denmark, they are dedicated to providing customers with high-quality sports gear and excellent service, helping everyone lead an active lifestyle. **Challenge:** Intersport DK wanted to promote their top-performing products to improve CTRs. However, they also wanted to factor in pricing to increase revenue per order. This was something their current single-parameter collection strategy was not able to do. Their main goal was to test Kimonix's AI sorting, which uses multiple ROI-focused parameters, against their current collection strategy to measure its impact on conversion rates and the types of products that receive clicks. **Solution:** Using Kimonix AMS (AI Merchandising Strategy), Intersport DK optimized their primary collection, which had the highest traffic and sales, by dynamically sorting products based on real-time data. Our AMS takes into account advanced parameters like sales performance, inventory, margins, and more, to ensure each collection is sorted with the most effective strategy. **Results:** Intersport DK's average collection CTR increased by 93%, while the price increased by 46% in just one week. By integrating Kimonix's AI-powered merchandising, Intersport DK transformed their collections, achieving significant improvements in both customer engagement and revenue. This success highlights the value of using data-driven strategies to align product sorting with business priorities. ## DailySale (Discount e-Retail) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/dailysale Results: 221% Increase in AVG Collection CTR (YoY) DailySale is an e-commerce site offering a diverse range of products sold at discounted prices. The company strives to save time for buyers by tracking down the best deals on their favorite items. Its current categories include Apparel & Jewelry, Electronics, Home, Health & Beauty, Outdoors & Travel, and more. **Challenge:** Like any e-retailer, DailySale knew that one of the keys to success was curating a product selection that entices customers and increases the number of smart collections they receive. However, this is easier said than done — at least without a powerful tool for collecting data on product performance and using it to make informed decisions. To make matters more complex, DailySale's site features dozens of products spanning multiple categories, making it impossible to manually determine and promote best-selling items while still tracking margin and inventory. **Solution:** DailySale's store was designed to be a one-stop shop for all of their customers' needs. So when they saw that customers tended to shop by product category, whether it be women's clothing or home goods, they knew they needed an automated solution that could dynamically sort their products based on real time data. Fortunately, we had exactly what they needed. To help DailySale sort their products dynamically based on real time data, our Kimonix AMS granted them a powerful AI merchandising strategy that considered various advanced parameters, including: **Results:** Kimonix's AMS AI merchandising strategy solution was successful in eliminating manual tasks for DailySale's team and increasing sales for each sorted collection. As a result, the company can now focus more on growing its business and improving the customer experience. Thanks to these advanced product analytics, the company enjoyed the following result. ## Swarovski (Jewelry & Luxury Retail) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/swarovski Results: 29% Reduction of Non-Moving Inventory · 18% Increase in Overall Conversion Rates · 8% Increase in Profits over Four Weeks Swarovski is an omnichannel retail brand under the umbrella of YALON — the official representative in Israel of the global Swarovski company. Their store includes a high-traffic online store and seven brick-and-mortar locations. **Challenge:** Swarovski needed to push their slow-moving inventory without decreasing exposure to bestsellers and disrupting their conversion rates and sales. However, their store is run on Shopify, so they could only use one parameter (out of a limited list) to sort their collections. Additionally, their sorting was being calculated over 'all-time', preventing them from optimizing their non-moving stock. Ultimately, they needed to shift their slow movers by pushing them to the top of the collections pages, without risking decreased exposure to bestsellers hurting their conversion rate and sales. **Solution:** To ensure Swarovski was able to move non-moving inventory while also increasing sales, Kimonix built a new, tailored sorting strategy for each of their collections — using multiple advanced parameters simultaneously: sales, conversion rates, days to finish inventory, inventory levels, and margins. Every parameter was ranked based on the business goals of each collection. Creating a balanced, multi-parameter sorting strategy enabled Swarovski to display and expose both bestsellers and slow-movers. After this, we let our data-collecting AI and automation do the work to optimize these collections. **Results:** After four weeks, Swarovski achieved a 29% reduction in non-moving inventory, a 72% increase in daily sales rate of top 10% products by inventory volume, an 18% increase in overall conversion rates, and an 8% increase in profits. Key takeaways: - 29% reduction of non-moving inventory - 72% increase in daily sales rate of top 10% products by inventory volume - 18% increase in overall conversion rates - 8% increase in profits over a four week period ## Yellow Shoes (Footwear) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/yellow-shoes Results: 31% Increase in Add to Cart Rate YoY Founded in 1916, Yellow Shoes is a Quebec-based manufacturer and distributor of quality footwear, ranging from hiking boots to high heels and platforms. The catalog on its online store is extensive, with a diverse range of styles, sizes, and colors for men, women, and children. With such a trusted reputation, the company has been able to establish itself as a leader in the footwear industry — both nationally and worldwide. **Challenge:** With over 200 collections being sold online, Yellow Shoes' team had its work cut out for them when it came to optimizing their product categories. They wanted to be more efficient in their merchandising efforts and automate the process for an enhanced inventory management experience. The company would require a solution that categorized and promoted products based on multiple parameters, all of which were based on advanced product analytics. This would prevent them from needing to manually update each product page and would help the company create more efficient and profitable marketing campaigns. **Solution:** To grant Yellow Shoes the merchandising strategy it needed to enjoy sustainable growth, Kimonix provided a sorting strategy for each of its primary collections across the site. Fortunately, we had exactly what they needed. **Results:** Using Kimonix, Yellow Shoes was able to strike a streamlined balance between the parameters listed above. As a result, the company can now promote high-converting products within their sorted collections, therefore resulting in a notable increase for its add to cart ratio. Since employing Kimonix's advanced merchandising strategy, the company has enjoyed the following result. ## JD Sports (Fashion & Sportswear) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/jd-sports Results: 142% Improvement in Collections Conversion Rate JD Sports, a prominent clothing brand based out of Israel, is no stranger to the complexities and challenges of online retail. With the objective of elevating their online conversion rate, JD Sport sought the expertise of Kimonix, a forerunner in the eCommerce merchandising sector. The result was a spectacular 142% surge in their collection conversion rate. **Challenge:** The primary goal of JD Sports was simple yet ambitious: increase their collections conversion rate by a significant margin. The team had a straightforward objective: to test if Kimonix, known as one of the web's top providers of eCommerce optimization solutions, could deliver the desired results. **Solution:** JD Sports employed Kimonix to initiate a precisely structured A/B testing strategy on one of their central collections. The team executed two distinctive sorting strategies: **Results:** Just a week into the AB testing experiment, JD Sports began witnessing impressive results. With the advanced sorting strategy provided by Kimonix, the collection's conversion rate skyrocketed by an unprecedented 142%. The Kimonix solution proved its worth, affirming its efficacy in enhancing the online shopping experience and driving higher conversion rates. Key takeaways: - The significance of A/B testing in enhancing conversion rates - The potential of sophisticated sorting strategies to structure product displays - The value of considering multiple parameters like sales, conversion rate, and stock ratio in decision-making processes ## Summum (Women's Fashion) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/summum Results: 19% Conversion Rate Growth Summum is a women's apparel fashion label that Jos and Jorien Wijker started in 1998. Positioned as a down-to-earth Dutch brand with international appeal, they focus on creating on-trend and timelessly classic designs that both look great and are comfortable. **Challenge:** Summum wanted to switch to an advanced, multiple-parameter product sorting strategy to drive their overall store conversion rate. However, they didn't want to risk a drop in sales or revenue with their strategy change, so they were looking for a streamlined approach and tool. **Solution:** With the help of Kimonix, Summum were able to better balance between sales, conversion rates, variants with stock ratio, inventory, and more. They created an advanced product sorting strategy that factors in "how many sizes are in stock" (and other inventory optimization metrics) into their merchandising strategy. The seamless implementation was made possible by Ask Phill, Summum's Shopify development partner, who ensured Kimonix integrated smoothly with their existing tech stack. As a Shopify agency specializing in fashion ecommerce, Ask Phill helped optimize the technical setup so Summum could start seeing results within weeks rather than months. For an apparel brand like Summum, merchandising based on "how many sizes are in stock" is crucial for the conversion rate. And then, by combining that metric with the other essential parameters, they were able to fine-tune their strategy until they saw a significant impact on their store's overall conversion rate. **Results:** In just five weeks, Summum saw a 19% increase in their store's overall conversion rate, successfully transitioning from single-parameter to multi-parameter sorting without any negative impact on sales. ## Mia Belle Girls (Children's Fashion) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/mia-belle-girls Results: 267% Increase in Collections Conversion Rates Mia Belle Girls, founded in 2007, has grown to be a household name and a trusted source for girls' clothing, accessories, and matching mother-daughter looks. With over 900,000 followers, Mia Belle Girls continues to take social media by storm, offering high quality and on trend outfits that fit every occasion. **Challenge:** Mia Belle Girls was already a loved brand with a large social media following. However, the company was seeking to enhance their online conversion rates. Their previous sorting method used sales and inventory, and required manually tagging bestsellers and new arrivals, making it a time-consuming process. They also had to account for inventory quantities, which didn't always provide accurate data. The team needed an advanced, data-driven solution to improve the effectiveness of their eCommerce product sorting strategies, and thus drive increased sales. **Solution:** Mia Belle Girls engaged Kimonix to transform their sorting strategy. With Kimonix's powerful analytics and advanced sorting capabilities, Mia Belle Girls was able to quickly identify best-selling styles and automatically sort them higher in their collections. Kimonix also implemented a strategy that included sorting parameters such as sales, conversion rate, variants with stock ratio, and inventory. The utilization of these varied factors allowed the popular styles to gain better exposure, increasing the sales significantly. **Results:** In just two weeks of implementing Kimonix's advanced sorting strategies, Mia Belle Girls witnessed a staggering increase in their collections' conversion rate by 267%. The market-leading, intuitive capabilities of Kimonix provided Mia Belle Girls with the tools they needed to capitalize on their popular styles, optimize their inventory, and ultimately increase sales. Key takeaways: - Kimonix's advanced sorting capabilities can drastically improve eCommerce conversion rates - Automatic sorting of best-selling styles saves time and increases efficiency - Sorting strategies considering multiple parameters can have a significant impact on sales ## Davosa USA (Luxury Watches) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/davosa Results: 32% Increase in Conversion Rates · 16% Decrease in Non-Moving Inventory Davosa is a renowned Swiss watch brand that has been producing timepieces since 1881. The company has a long-standing history in the watchmaking industry and is known for its commitment to craftsmanship and quality. Davosa offers a diverse range of watches, including both mechanical and quartz models. Their collection encompasses various styles, including dress watches, sports watches, dive watches, pilot watches, and more. Each watch is meticulously crafted and incorporates high-quality materials and components. **Challenge:** Though the Davosa USA team was consistently producing high-quality products and moving best-selling watches off the shelves, they were struggling to do the same with their non-moving inventory. The team had attempted many different strategies to increase conversion rates, but none of them had proven effective. As such, Davosa USA needed to move these items as quickly as possible in order to maximize their margins. But there was one important challenge to keep in mind: they could not risk losing any sales. Like any brand, the team was concerned about over-promoting problematic products, and therefore reducing the visibility of their best sellers in collection pages — which would reduce their overall conversion rates. **Solution:** To help Davosa USA strike the promotional balance they needed, Kimonix helped the company establish a multi-segment collection that differentiated and balanced 3 main types of products: **Results:** In their first month using Kimonix, Davosa USA was able to dramatically increase sales for both their non-moving inventory and existing best performers. With a properly-balanced merchandising strategy in place, the company achieved the following results: ## Alembika (Women's Fashion) Source: https://www.kimonix.com/customers/alembika Results: 38.7% Peak Email Campaign CVR · ~25% Avg CVR Across Campaigns Founded in 2005, Alembika is a global apparel brand designing flattering, layered fashion for women 40+. Founded by designer Hagar Alembik-Hazofe and Dr. Judy Fadlon, the brand has grown into a recognized online fashion name with a loyal worldwide following. With a deep, rotating catalog and a highly engaged email audience, Alembika needed their email program to work harder — not just reach more people, but reach the right people with the right products. **Challenge:** Alembika's email list is engaged — but engagement only converts when the products shown are actually relevant. Standard email product blocks, manually curated or rule-based, couldn't keep pace with a rotating catalog and a diverse customer base with different preferences, purchase histories, and price sensitivities. They needed a way to bring the same multi-parameter product logic they were already using in Kimonix — revenue, inventory, margin, returns, personalization — into every email send, automatically. **Solution:** Using Kimonix's Klaviyo integration, Alembika embedded dynamically personalized product selections directly into their email flows. Each send pulls products ranked by Kimonix's engine — combining individual shopper behavior with store-wide performance data — so every recipient sees a product set built for them, not the average customer. This approach covers their full email calendar — recurring weekly flows, seasonal campaigns, welcome sequences, and win-back flows for lapsed customers. The same integration powers all of it. **Results:** Across multiple campaign types, Alembika's Kimonix-powered email program has delivered conversion rates that consistently outperform standard ecommerce email benchmarks — which typically range from 1–3%. What makes these numbers significant isn't just the peak — it's the consistency. Welcome flows, seasonal sends, win-back campaigns, weekly recurring flows: all performing well above industry averages, without manual product selection or ongoing maintenance. # Help center — Merchandising app ## How to activate Triple Whale Integration Source: https://www.kimonix.com/help-center/merch/how-to-activate-triple-whale-integration Connecting Triple Whale to Kimonix unlocks ad attribution metrics — ROAS, CPA, ad spend, and more — directly in your product analytics and collection sorting rules. Follow the Collection Extension Setup Guide first, then return here to continue with marketization. ## Overview Marketization geo-merchandises your collections per market. Shoppers from each market see products sorted by that market's local performance, inventory, and trends — all on a single Shopify storefront with no extra URLs. With Marketization, you can: - Sort products by each market's local sales, conversion rate, and inventory - Exclude inventory at locations that don't serve a market - Create market-specific overrides when one market needs a different strategy ## Step 1: Enable Marketization Go to Kimonix → Settings → Markets and turn on the Marketization toggle. Markets are pulled from your Shopify Markets settings. ## Step 2: Choose Which Markets to Marketize Just under the Marketization toggle, decide whether to apply marketization to every market automatically or to a specific list you select. ### Marketize all markets (recommended) Turn on the Marketize all markets switch. Kimonix applies market-aware sorting to every market in your Shopify Markets settings. New markets added in Shopify are picked up automatically — no extra setup. ### Specific markets Leave the all-markets switch off and pick exactly which markets to marketize. Markets you don't pick are served the cross-market (default) sort. ## Step 3: Enable Marketize on a Collection Open any Kimonix collection's edit page and turn on the Marketize toggle. From that point on, shoppers visiting that collection see products sorted by their own market's data instead of the global aggregate. Newly created collections and first-time pre-existing sorts default to Marketize=on when the feature is active, so you usually don't need to flip the toggle manually. ## Step 4: Inventory Routing per Market (Optional) Settings → Markets → Exclude inventory of specific locations per market controls which inventory locations count toward each market's stock totals. For example, a US retail outlet shouldn't count toward your EU market's inventory rollup. ### Auto-derived from Shopify shipping zones If you've re-authorized the app to grant the read_shipping permission, Kimonix derives these exclusions automatically from your Shopify shipping configuration — locations that don't ship to a market's countries are excluded. Click Re-sync from Shopify to refresh after changing shipping zones. Review the values before saving — the sync overwrites the current mapping. ### Manual configuration Without the shipping scope (or if you want finer control), pick exclusions manually per market. Leave blank to count all locations. ## Step 5: Market-Specific Variants (Advanced, Optional) Sometimes one market needs a fundamentally different sort strategy or different pinned products — not just the localized version of the same logic. Use a market-specific variant for those cases. From the collections list, open the row's menu and pick Create variant for…, then select the market. ### Virtual variant (recommended default) A virtual variant has no Shopify-side collection — it only exists in Kimonix. Shoppers reach it through the parent collection's URL, and Kimonix swaps in the variant's products for matching-market visitors. Lighter setup, nothing extra to manage in Shopify admin. ### Real (Shopify-backed) variant A real variant gets its own Shopify collection so it has its own URL and can be edited from Shopify admin too. Useful when you need a direct URL for the variant or want to manage its membership independently of the parent. Variants override the parent for their specific market only. Other markets continue to see the parent's logic with auto-applied market suffixing. ## Performance Parameters Available for Marketized Sorting When a collection is marketized, Kimonix automatically suffixes the analytics parameters used by your sorters with the visitor's market — so the same sorter delivers per-market results. - Page Views, List Views, Views from a Collection, List CTR - Adds to Cart, Sales, Sales Quantity, Net Sales - Appeared in Orders, Conversion Rate, Sales per Item - Net Sales per Item, Net Sales per List View, Daily Sales Rate - Days to Finish Inventory, Inventory, Variants Inventory Ratio - COGS, Real Margin, Real Margin Multiplier - Gross Profit, Profit, Profit per Item, Profit per List View ## Legacy Redirect-Method Marketization Some early-adopter stores are still on the legacy redirect method, where Kimonix created a separate Shopify collection per market and the storefront redirected shoppers to the per-market URL. This flow is still supported but no longer recommended — the v2 flow above is faster and doesn't require per-market child collections. If you're on the redirect method and want to migrate, contact support@kimonix.com — we'll move you over and clean up the per-market children for you. For the legacy flow's setup steps, see the Marketize Your Collections by Market (v1) article. ## Set up a recommendation element Source: https://www.kimonix.com/help-center/merch/how-to-start-with-recommendation-elements Recommendation elements show shoppers a personalized selection of products anywhere on your store — product, collection, cart, or home page. This guide walks through creating an element, placing it on your storefront, and tracking how it performs. ## Step 1 — Create your element Open the Recommendation Elements page in the app and click Create an element. New elements are live by default, but they won’t appear on your store until you add the placeholder ID to your storefront (Step 4), so you can safely experiment with the configuration beforehand. If you’d like to test the element before fully rolling it out, you have a few options: • Preview it directly in the admin • Display it on specific products for testing purposes • Add it to an unpublished theme You can also toggle Test Mode on at any time from the Element edit page (Element tab → Visibility) if you’d prefer. ## Step 2 — Pick a strategy template Templates are pre-built recommendation strategies. Pick the one closest to what you want — you can fine-tune it in the next step. - Personalized Products — 1:1 recommendations tailored to each shopper, based on their activity and the purchasing patterns of similar shoppers. - Frequently Bought Together — products often purchased alongside the one being viewed. Best for product pages. - Similar Products — products with matching type, title, or tags. Sorted from most to least similar. - Recently Viewed — products the shopper has looked at, starting from the moment the element is created. Tip: you can mix templates within a single element — e.g., one segment of Personalized + one of Frequently Bought Together. ## Step 3 — Customize your element ### Name it Click the pencil next to the element title to rename it. Use a descriptive name like Personalized PDP so it's easy to find later. ### Choose which products to show The Products Selection section controls what the element shows. Click the pencil to open the strategy editor — it works like a regular Shopify collection, but more powerful: combine personalization, popularity, recency, and other parameters into a single strategy. Tip: always include at least one segment without personalization. New visitors don't have personalization data yet — this fallback determines what they see. Heads up: this won't create a collection on your collections page. The element is managed only from the Recommendation Elements page. ### Tweak the layout Adjust the layout type (Scrollable row or Gallery), text, sizes, margins, and colors. The right side shows a live preview as you change things. For more advanced styling, you can drop in custom CSS. ## Step 4 — Place it on your storefront Pick the path that matches your setup. Once the placeholder ID is wired in, the element starts showing on your site immediately. ### Standard Shopify theme - Activate the Kimonix Utils app embed: Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes → Edit theme → App embeds (top left), then activate the Kimonix Utils app embed. - Add a KX Element app block where you want the recommendation to appear. - Copy the Placeholder ID from the element's edit page and paste it into the block settings. You can add the element to the home page, collection page, product page, or cart page/drawer. ### Headless storefront or custom theme code Instead of using the KX Element block, paste this div directly into your site code wherever the recommendation should appear. Replace YOUR_PLACEHOLDER_ID with the Placeholder ID from the element's edit page: ```html
``` Drop the div into any Liquid template, React component, or HTML file — the Kimonix script will hydrate it on render. ## Step 5 — Preview with Test mode (optional) Want to verify everything looks right before shoppers see it? Turn on the Test mode toggle on the element's edit page and click Launch site in test mode. The element only renders in that preview URL — regular visitors won't see it. Once you're happy, turn Test mode off. For personalized templates, click around a few products in the preview to trigger personalization and see real recommendations. ## Step 6 — Track performance The Analytics section shows how each element is performing: Sales, Items Sold, Orders, Clicks, and Views. Pick any time range to compare or zoom in. ## Using Shopify Markets? These features are configured in recommendation templates and work automatically when customers browse your store. ## Overview There are three new capabilities available in your recommendation templates: - Context Match — Show or exclude products that share the same attribute (tags, vendor, product type, etc.) as the product(s) the customer is viewing or has in their cart. - Context Rules — Create mapping rules: when the context product has certain values, show (or exclude) products with different values. For example: when viewing a "summer" product, show "beach-accessories". - Conditional Pins — Pin specific products to a position only when the context product(s) match certain conditions. Additionally, products already in the customer's cart are automatically excluded from all recommendation results. ## Context Match Context Match filters recommendation results based on the attributes of the product(s) the customer is currently viewing or has in their cart. ### How to set up - Go to a recommendation template and open a segment's Filters section. - Select a parameter (e.g., Tag(s), Vendor, Product type). - In the Condition dropdown, select Context match. - Choose Show or Don't show from the inline dropdown. - Optionally, narrow to specific values. Leave empty to match all values from the context product(s). ### Examples - Tag(s) + Show: Customer views a product tagged "summer" → recommendations show other products also tagged "summer". - Vendor + Don't show: Customer views a Nike product → recommendations exclude other Nike products (show complementary brands). - Product ID + Show: Only activate this segment when the viewed product is one of specific product IDs (comma-separated). ## Context Rules Context Rules let you create specific mappings between context product values and the products you want to show or hide. Unlike Context Match (which matches the same values), Context Rules map from one set of values to a completely different set. ### How to set up - Select a parameter and choose Context rules from the Condition dropdown. - Each mapping row reads as a sentence: "When context product(s) has [values] → show/don't show products with [values]". - Select values on the left (what the context product must have). - Choose show or don't show from the middle dropdown. - Select target values on the right (which products to include or exclude). - Click + Add mapping to add more rules. ### Examples - When context product has tags "summer", "spring" → show products with tags "beach-accessories", "sunscreen". - When context product has tags "premium" → don't show products with tags "budget", "clearance". ## Conditional Pins Normally, pinned products always appear at their designated position. With Conditional Pins, you can make a pin only activate when the context product(s) match certain conditions. ### How to set up - In the Pin products in a position section, add a pinned product with its Product ID and Position. - Click + Add condition (optional). - Choose a field (tag, vendor, product type, product ID, or handle). - Select or type the value(s). For tags/vendor/type you get a dropdown picker. For IDs and handles, use comma-separated values. - Add multiple conditions — the pin activates when ALL conditions are met by at least one context product. ### Examples - Pin product #12345 at position 1, only when context product has tag "summer" → pin appears only on summer product pages. - Pin product #99999 at position 2, only when context product has vendor "Nike" → promotes a Nike accessory only on Nike product pages. ## Automatic Cart Exclusion Products already in the customer's cart are automatically excluded from all recommendation results. This prevents recommending products the customer has already decided to purchase. This behavior is always active when cart data is available — no configuration needed. ## What are "context product(s)"? The context product(s) are the product(s) the customer is currently interacting with: - On a Product Detail Page (PDP): The context product is the single product being viewed. - On a Cart page or other pages: The context product(s) are all products in the cart. If any cart product matches a rule, it activates. ## Important Notes - Context-based features are only available when editing templates (not individual collections). - Available for: Title, Tag(s), Vendor, Product type, Handle, Product ID, and string metafields. - Pins without conditions continue to work as before — always visible. - You can combine context filters with regular filters and sorters in the same segment. ## Kimonix Collection Extension — Setup Guide Source: https://www.kimonix.com/help-center/merch/collection-extension-setup ## Step 1: Enable Kimonix Utils - In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes → Customize - Click App embeds (the puzzle icon in the left sidebar) - Find Kimonix Utils and toggle it on - Click Save ## Step 2: Add the Collection Block You have two options depending on whether you want the Kimonix collection on all collections or only specific ones. ### Option A: All Collections Use this if you want Kimonix to power every collection page. - In the theme customizer, navigate to any collection page using the page selector at the top - In the left sidebar under Template, find the native product grid section - Remove or hide the native product grid section - Click Add block or Add section and select KX Collection - Configure the block settings (page size, filter style, columns, etc.) - Click Save All collections using the default template will now use the Kimonix collection grid. ### Option B: Specific Collections Only Use this if you only want Kimonix on certain collections while keeping the native grid on others. - In the theme customizer, navigate to a collection page - At the top, click the page selector and choose Create template — name it something like kimonix-collection - In this new template, remove the native product grid section - Click Add block or Add section and select KX Collection - Configure the block settings and click Save - Go to Shopify Admin → Products → Collections - Open each collection you want to use Kimonix for - In the right sidebar under Theme template, select kimonix-collection - Save the collection Only the assigned collections will use the Kimonix grid. All others keep the native Shopify grid. ## Block Settings Reference - Products per page — Number of products before "Load More" (default: 24) - Max items per row (desktop) — Columns on large screens (default: 4) - Items per row (tablet) — Auto interpolates between min/max, or set a fixed value (default: Auto) - Min items per row (mobile) — Columns on small screens (default: 2) - Desktop filter style — Dropdown or Drawer (default: Dropdown) - Mobile filter style — Dropdown or Drawer (default: Drawer) - Show secondary image on hover — Swap to second product image on mouse hover (default: Off) - Custom CSS — Override default styles (for developers) - Custom card renderer (JS) — Replace the default product card with custom HTML (for developers) ## Customization ### Custom CSS Paste CSS into the Custom CSS block setting to override default styles. This is useful for matching your theme's typography, colors, and spacing. ### Custom Card Renderer For advanced customizations beyond CSS, paste a JavaScript function into the Custom card renderer block setting: ```javascript window.kimonixRenderCard = function(product, productId) { // product contains: id, handle, title, featuredImage, priceRange, variants, options, etc. return '
...
'; } ``` This gives full control over the product card HTML, useful for integrating with third-party apps (wishlists, reviews) that require specific markup. ## How to create an A/B test? Source: https://www.kimonix.com/help-center/merch/how-to-set-up-an-ab-test ### What is an A/B Test? An A/B test compares two or more versions of a page to see which performs best. With Kimonix, you can easily test different collection sorting strategies to find what drives the most conversions and boosts store performance. ### Before starting your test: - Set your goal: Decide what you want to measure (e.g., test sorting strategies to boost sales).Choose variations: Kimonix creates two by default - add more if needed.Keep results accurate: Test different sorting strategies on the same product set to see what truly drives performance.Next Steps: Please see the video tutorials below for step-by-step instructions on how to start and how to end your A/B test. ### Starting an A/B Test: [Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5unQff3MVw] ### Ending an A/B Test: [Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AIgwdAtX14] Please note that A/B tests can only run on sorted collections — either existing Shopify collections or those created in Kimonix. ## How to sort a collection based on the availability of specific sizes Source: https://www.kimonix.com/help-center/merch/how-to-sort-a-collection-based-on-the-availability-of-specific-sizes ## How It Works ### 1. Go to Variant-Level Inventory Settings Navigate to your Kimonix Settings page and scroll down to the Variant-Level Inventory section. ### 2. Configure an Option Set Create an option set to define which variant you want to prioritize: - Click the + (plus) button to add a new option set - Select the variants from the list that are most important to your collection - Set a minimum quantity — products with stock above this threshold for the selected variants will be boosted ### 3. Apply to a Collection Once your option set is configured, apply it to any collection: - Go to the collection's sort settings - Add the Variant-Level Inventory sorter - Select the option set you created Products with sufficient stock in the selected variants will be pushed higher in the collection, while out-of-stock variants will be deprioritized. ### Example If you sell clothing and want to prioritize products that have sizes M and L in stock, create an option set for those sizes with a minimum quantity of 1. Products with M and L available will appear higher in the collection. ## How to make a Kimonix collection take over the original collection URL Source: https://www.kimonix.com/help-center/merch/how-to-create-a-new-kimonix-collection ### Step 1: How to make a Kimonix collection take over the original collection URL [VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNSTJZHYY9w] ### Step 2: How to Update Collection Navigation in Your Store [VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsjuUCLpPVA] Have any feature requests? Source: https://www.kimonix.com/help-center/merch/how-to-set-up-a-personalized-email-campaign Email marketing plays a major role in the life of any brand. We believe that personalization in your marketing emails can significantly improve results. We encourage you to read this case study about how one of our customers achieved a Marketing Conversion Rate of 29% by using this tool. With this tool, you can include a section of personalized clickable products in your email campaigns. The products dynamically change per customer based on their past purchases. For customers who don't have past purchases yet (therefore no personalization), you will have the flexibility to choose which products to present them as well. This tool integrates with the following email providers: Yotpo, Klaviyo, Pipedrive, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, MailerLite, Omnisend, and Privy. All email providers that support merge tags (sometimes called personalization tags) are applicable, more information about this can be found in this article. ### Pre-requisites: - Start a plan that includes the “Email campaigns” tool. - Make sure your marketing email provider is included in the list above (or supports merge tags). ### Below we will go over the steps to set up your first email campaign: ### Step 1: Creating a campaign - Go to the “Email campaigns” section on the app. - Click “Create a Campaign” to create a new campaign. Step 2: Select a template You can choose from 3 available templates: All templates have 2 segments, one for personalized products and one that is not personalized. This gives you the flexibility to decide on what products to show when customers don’t have past purchases, which results in no personalization. If you are not sure about how segments work, please refer to this video. There are three templates you can choose from: 1. Personalized Products: Segment 1 - Personalized products. Segment 2 - Choose your own strategy for which products to show to customers without personalization. ### 2. Personalized Products & Best Sellers: Segment 1 - Personalized products. Segment 2 - Best-selling products. It uses the best seller filters, to only include the best-selling products in this segment. ### 3. Personalized Products & Sale: Segment 1 - Personalized products. Segment 2 - Sale Products. It applies the sales filters so that this segment only includes the current "Sale" products. You can edit each template in any way you like, adding more segments and rules. Good to know: The Personalization for email campaigns is based on past purchases of each customer separately. Step 3: Editing your campaign Once you have chosen your template you will be able to: A. Name your email campaign. B. Edit the product selection - to choose which products to show in the        campaign. C. Select your email provider. D. Edit the layout of your campaign (In-mail product gallery). A. Name: give your campaign a unique name to easily identify it in the app. B. Products selection: Build your strategy - Once you have named your campaign, click the blue “Edit…” button in the “Products selection” section. - The editing page will open (will look like a collection page). This is where you will have complete flexibility to create your strategy for your campaign based on the app's parameters. You can combine multiple strategies and set the exact one to showcase your customers' most suitable products. - Notice the “Exclude bought products” toggle at the bottom, which gives you the option to be sure customers won't be recommended products that they have already purchased in the past. - When you are happy with your strategy, scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save". C. Email provider: Choose your email provider - This tool integrates with the following email providers: Yotpo, Klaviyo, Pipedrive, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, MailerLite, Omnisend, and Privy. - If you don’t have an email provider for marketing or it’s none of the above please refer to the following article. D. In-mail product gallery: edit the layout of your campaign including text, alignments, colors, and more.Good to know: you can do more layout customizations using the HTML in your email provider after you add the code from the app. ### Step 4: Preview your campaign - Once you are happy with the element, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the green “save and preview” button. - You will see a preview of how the segment of products will look. - Click “OK” to continue and get the code. ### Step 5: Using your campaign - After you click the “OK” button in step 4, you will see a pop-up of the code you need for your email provider’s HTML editor. - Click "Copy" to copy the code. - Paste the code in the email campaign (found in your email provider) that you want to send. - Now you will see the segment of products popping up in your email campaign. ### Step 6: Test (optional) Testing which products a personalized customer gets. You can test this by sending a test marketing email to users with past purchases and to users without purchase history from your company and see which products they see. Step 7: Campaign Analytics Once you send the campaign, monitor its performance using the analytics section. This is found on the landing page of the “Email Campaigns”. You can see data such as Sales, Orders, Conversion Rate, and more.Good to know: The Conversion Rate determines which products were purchased after clicking on products from the campaign. Only products that were clicked in the campaign and purchased by the same customer are marked as converted. ### Congratulations, your email campaign is live and is ready to boost your profits! Please integrate your shop to one of the email providers mentioned in the next paragraph, or to an email provider that supports merge tags (sometimes called personalization tags). Notice that, As for now, Shopify Email has no support for merge tags, so it doesn’t match that purpose. ### I use Shopify Email As for now, Shopify Email doesn’t support merge tags, which is something we need to make it work. please integrate your shop to one of the email providers mentioned in the next paragraph, or to an email provider that supports merge tags (sometimes called personalization tags). ### Let's start: If you have got to this part, you probably use an email provider that supports merge tags. that’s great! the following steps talk about how to implement this in Mailchimp, but it is very similar in each of the email providers. Select an email provider on the Kimonix app: In Mailchimp, Edit the campaign's email content, add a Code block and paste the HTML from the Kimonix app to the code editor: That’s it! Your campaign is ready to launch. ## How To Use Product Grouping? Source: https://www.kimonix.com/help-center/merch/how-to-use-product-grouping [VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QuU8gsaDng] ### What is a product group? Sometimes in a collection, you may want to display related products together, like the top and bottom of a swimsuit, or a matching necklace and earrings set. Product Grouping allows you to manually link these related items so they always appear side by side in a collection, even if their individual rankings or filters would normally place them apart. This helps shoppers discover complete sets and significantly increases the chances of purchasing multiple items together. ### For example, you can group: - Sets - Tops and bottoms of a swimsuit, or matching pajamas - Accessories - A necklace with matching earrings or bracelet - Variants by design - Same product in different colors sold as separate items - Complementary items  - A dress with a matching jacket or shoes Grouped products are displayed together in the order you define, making it easier for customers to shop full looks or sets, and boosting your upsell potential. Even better: The group’s placement in the collection is determined by the top-performing product (based on your sorting strategy), so your best-sellers can pull other group members up in visibility. Product Groups give you precise control over visual merchandising, making your collections cleaner, smarter, and more effective. *Watch the video tutorial above to see Product Grouping in action and learn how to get started. ## Using Collections Segments Source: https://www.kimonix.com/help-center/merch/how-to-use-segments [VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVOs9ZErGwA] Segments are a powerful tool to create highly targeted collections tailored to your unique business goals and strategies. With dynamic segmentation, you can group products in real time based on specific, customizable criteria. ### For example, you can Segment by: - Product Type - Shirts, Dresses, Pants, etc. - Performance - New Arrivals, Best Sellers, Non-Movers, Most Popular - Price Range - Showcase luxury items, budget-friendly picks, or anything in between - Promotions - Highlight sale items or limited-time offers - Product tags, metafields and more - Merchandise products based on attributes for precise, flexible merchandising - Inventory & Availability- Only show what’s in stock and ready to sell - Vendor - Group by brand or supplier for brand-specific merchandising And this is just the beginning! Segments give you dynamic control to set up collections based on your needs and goals, then let data and automation do the rest. *Watch the video tutorial to see segmentation in action and learn how to get started. Source: https://www.kimonix.com/help-center/merch/analytics-parameters-time-frame When using sorters (and filters) for your collection, you incorporate Analytics Parameters that operate within a defined time frame. Let's take the “Sales Quantity” parameter as an example. If you set this parameter as a sorter and your time frame is set to 30 days, the products will be arranged based on the quantity they've sold specifically within those 30 days. By default, and as recommended, the time frame is initially set to 30 days. Nevertheless, you have the flexibility to customize this time frame within the range of 0 to 90 days. Here is how to change the time frame: 1. Access your settings page: Click on your store icon in the top right corner of the app and select “settings”. 2. Once on the settings page, please follow the next steps to change the time frame: - Look under “Data & Analytics” - Find the “Default lookback period (products' parameters in collections)” - Modify it to your preferred time frame (0-90) - Click the green “Save” icon to save your changes This adjustment enables you to tailor your analytics parameters to match the time frame that best suits your needs. Kimonix is based on data analytics parameters (your sorters and filters), that change dynamically with your store operation. When sorting collections by analytical parameters, it's crucial to ensure your collections stay updated accordingly. As your customers make purchases, the Analytics Parameters values for each product change dynamically, and this requires the collections to be re-sorted based on the updated product data. Continuous updates of a collection guarantee that the right products are always prioritized at the top, aligning with your merchandising strategy. During an update, The Shopify admin sends your app the updated data, and the app updates your collections. There are 2 types of updates: - Automatic updates - Manual updates ### Automatic update frequency: The automatic update frequency is based on your subscription plan. - Basic: Updates once a day - Starter: Updates twice a day - Advanced: Updates 4 times a day - Superior: Updates hourly ### When exactly does it happen? There isn't a fixed, specific hour for updates, such as 2 p.m. Instead, let's illustrate with an example: If you have the Starter plan, which allows for 2 updates per day, these updates are evenly distributed over the course of 24 hours.  In this case, 24/ 2 equals 12, so your collections will be updated approximately every 12 hours. ### Manual updates: You can always perform a manual update to update your collections on the spot. You can do it for only one collection, all of them or just a few. Read more about manual updates in this article. Have any feature requests? Need our help? We are here --> Message us directly through this chat link. ## Analytics Parameters Dictionary Source: https://www.kimonix.com/help-center/merch/analytics-parameters-dictionary ### Good to know: - Analytics Parameters depend on the time period set in the app settings. Source: https://www.kimonix.com/help-center/merch/how-to-pin-a-product-to-a-position ## What is Product Pinning? Product pinning lets you lock a specific product to a fixed position in your collection. The product will always appear at that position regardless of sorting rules. ## How to Pin a Product - Go to the collection page and choose a collection. - In the right-side preview, locate the product you want to pin. - Click the pin icon next to the product. - Enter the position number where you want the product to appear. - Click Save. ### Important Notes - You can only pin products that are already included in that collection. - You can pin up to 30 products. - Pinned products will remain in their position even after collection updates. - To unpin a product, click the pin icon again and remove the position. ### Pinning from the Collection List You can also pin products directly from the collections list view by clicking the 3-dot menu next to a collection and selecting "Pin products." # Help center — AI Search & Sales Agent ## Use Kimonix Merchandising templates in the AI Search Agent Source: https://www.kimonix.com/help-center/agecom/merchandising-templates-in-ai-search-agent This article walks through using a Kimonix Merchandising template to re-rank search and chat results in the AI Search Agent app, plus how to configure per-query product boosts. ## What this integration does The AI Search Agent's typeahead search and chat product suggestions both come from Shopify's storefront search. With this integration you can apply your existing Merchandising sort strategies (sorters, push tags, pinned products, non-stock-last) on top of those results — and define query-specific boosts that surface chosen products at the top. - Re-rank typeahead search and / or chat product-summary blocks via a saved Merchandising template. - Blend the template's ranking with Shopify's native relevance using a single slider (0% template = pure Shopify; 100% template = pure template). - Surface specific products for specific queries (boosts) — exact match in typeahead, intent match in chat. - Per-shop, per-feature toggles: enable each independently for typeahead search and / or chat agent. ## Prerequisites You'll need both apps installed on the same Shopify store. The AI Search Agent provides the chat / search UI; the Merchandising app stores the templates. Don't have Merchandising yet? Install it from the Shopify App Store → ## Step 1 — Create a template in Merchandising Templates are reusable sort strategies. You can dedicate one to the search-agent integration, or reuse an existing template you already use for collections. - Open the Merchandising app and go to the Collections page. - Click Saved templates in the top navigation. - Click Create a new template. - Give it a clear name. For a template you'll only use with the search agent, we recommend Search — do not delete (so other staff don't accidentally remove it). - Configure the sorters (e.g. sales 30d, conversion rate, custom score), push tags, pinned products, and non-stock-last as needed. Filters are ignored by the integration — the candidate set is whatever Shopify search or the agent returned, so the template only re-ranks within that set. - Click Create (saves and stays on the edit page) or Create & Exit (saves and returns to the templates list). ## Step 2 — Copy the template ID Two equally good ways to get the ID: - From the edit page: the General information card on the right shows the Template id with a Copy button. - From the templates list: click the three-dots menu on the row and choose Copy ID. ## Step 3 — Paste it into the AI Search Agent - Open the AI Search Agent's settings page in your Shopify admin. - Scroll to the Advanced merchandising section. - Paste the template id into Sort with Kimonix Merchandising template. - Adjust the Re-rank blend slider. 100% template = pure template ranking; 0% = ignore the template (use Shopify's native order). Anything in between blends position-wise. - Decide where the template applies: Apply to typeahead search results (the search bar at the top of the chat) and / or Apply to chat agent results (product blocks the agent surfaces in conversation). Each is independent. - Save the agent settings. ## Step 4 (optional) — Add product boosts Boosts are per-query overrides: specific products surface at the top when the shopper's query matches. They run after the template re-rank, so a boost always wins on a matched query. - In the same Advanced merchandising card, scroll to Product boosts. - Click Add boost rule. - Enter one or more search terms (comma-separated — same products will surface for each). Use the Pick products button to select via Shopify's product picker. - Toggle Apply to typeahead search results and / or Apply to chat agent results. The matching semantics differ: - Typeahead — exact, case-insensitive match against the typed query. - Chat agent — intent match. The agent reads the rule as "when the shopper asks about X, also show Y" and uses its own judgment (so "keep my skis fast" matches a "ski wax" rule). - Save. ## How sorting flows together When all features are on, the order of operations on a search result list is: - Shopify storefront search returns the candidate products. - Template re-ranks them position-wise, blended with Shopify's order via the slider. - Push tags / pinned products / non-stock-last from the template are applied last (absolute positions). - Product boosts pull matched-rule handles to the top — fetching them via Storefront if Shopify search didn't return them. ## Tips - If you only want the integration on chat (not on typeahead), uncheck "Apply to typeahead search results" on both Template and Boosts. The typeahead falls back to Shopify's native ranking with zero round-trip overhead. - Iterating on a template? Use Save (no exit) on the template edit page to apply changes without leaving — handy when tuning sorter weights. - Templates can be marketized — if your Merchandising template has Marketize on and the shopper has a country attached, the integration rewrites sorter params (sales → sales_) automatically. ## How to Hide the Original Shopify Search Icon Source: https://www.kimonix.com/help-center/agecom/hide-shopify-search-icon When you enable the KX AI Sales Assistant & Search — especially with the KX Inline Search Button added to your header — your storefront may end up with two search icons side by side: your theme's built-in one and the new KX one. Hiding the theme's default keeps the header clean and gives shoppers one obvious place to start a search. ## Where to paste the CSS The Shopify theme editor has a Custom CSS field on the theme's Header section. That's the right place for this rule, because: - The override targets the header, so it sits with the section it's modifying. - The field is scoped to that section only — "Adds custom styles to this section only" in Shopify's own wording. - No theme code editing, no file changes. ### Steps - In Shopify admin, open Online Store → Themes and click Customize on your active theme. - In the left sidebar, click the Header section. - Scroll the settings panel on the right down to Custom CSS. - Paste the snippet below. - Click Save. ### Example CSS ```css details-modal.header__search { display: none; } ``` > Important: this snippet is just an example — it targets the search modal used by Shopify's Dawn theme and themes based on it. Every theme structures its header differently, so the exact selector you need may be different on yours. ### Finding the right selector for your theme If the example above doesn't hide your search icon, you'll need to find the selector your theme uses: - Open your live storefront in a browser. - Right-click the default search icon and choose Inspect (Chrome/Edge) or Inspect Element (Safari/Firefox). - Look at the highlighted element and its parent — find a class or tag that clearly identifies the search control (e.g. .header__search, #search-icon-header, header-search). - Write a CSS rule targeting it: ```css /* Replace with the selector from your theme */ .your-theme-search-class { display: none; } ``` If you're not comfortable with CSS, your theme developer or Shopify's theme support can point you at the right selector. ## Alternative: edit the theme code directly If your theme's Header section doesn't expose a Custom CSS field, you can add the same rule to one of the theme's stylesheets: - In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes. - On your active theme click the … menu and choose Edit code. - Open a global stylesheet — common names include base.css, theme.css, styles.css, or a header-specific file like component-header.css. - Paste the CSS rule at the bottom of the file so it overrides existing styles. - Click Save. ## Verify it worked Refresh your storefront (a hard reload — Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + R — clears cached CSS) and confirm the original search icon is gone. If it's still there, the selector likely doesn't match your theme — inspect the element and adjust the rule as described above. ## Related - How to implement and configure the search button ## How To Implement & Configure The Inline Button Source: https://www.kimonix.com/help-center/agecom/implement-configure-search-button The KX AI Sales Assistant & Search app ships two theme components you can enable independently or together: - KX Agent (app embed) — the floating bubble and the full chat/search modal. - KX Inline Button (section block) — a button you drop into any section (usually the header), with your choice of icon: magnifier, sparks, chat, or robot. Most merchants enable the KX Agent for the conversational experience, and optionally add the KX Inline Button so shoppers have a quick way to launch the agent from the header. ## 1. Activate the extension After installing, open the app from Apps in Shopify admin. On the welcome screen, click Activate Extension. The theme editor opens with the KX Agent app embed pre-selected and switched on. Click Save to apply it to your storefront. That's it — the agent is live. The rest of this guide is for customizing and extending it. ## 2. Configure the agent All the agent's appearance and behavior settings live in the app's Settings page (not the theme editor). Open the Kimonix app in Shopify admin and click Settings. A live preview on the right side of the page reflects every change as you edit, before you save. Settings are grouped into sections: - Floating prompt bar — pinned to the bottom of every page. Toggle Show on or off and pick its accent color. - Floating button — the circular launcher in a corner of the page. Toggle Show, choose the icon, color, size, roundness, and position. - Mobile layout — when the prompt bar and floating button are both enabled, decide which one shoppers see on small viewports (default: prompt bar only). Desktop always shows both. - In-agent search — the search bar inside the open chat. Hide it when shoppers open the agent from a floating element to take them straight to chat. Choose how out-of-stock products appear in results. - Agent interface — main color, text direction, product card click action and shortcut icons, product image ratio, welcome message. - Initial prompts — up to 8 suggestion chips shown when the chat first opens. - Advanced — custom CSS for developer-level overrides. > If both Show toggles are off (Floating prompt bar and Floating button), the agent has no visible entry point on the storefront. You can still test it by appending #kx-agent to any storefront URL. Click Save when you're done. The save bar appears automatically as soon as you change any setting. ## 3. (Optional) Add the KX Inline Button to your header If you want a button in your header that launches the agent — either alongside or in place of your theme's built-in search — add the KX Inline Button block. - In the theme editor, click the Header section in the left sidebar. - Click Add block and choose KX Inline Button. - Drag the block to the position you want (typically next to your theme's existing icons). Open the block's settings to pick an icon (magnifier, sparks, chat, or robot), style it, size the clickable area, and choose whether the in-agent search step should be skipped when shoppers launch from this button. Click Save. ## 4. (Optional) Hide your theme's default search If you added the KX Inline Button with the magnifier icon, your header may end up with two magnifier icons — yours and the theme's built-in one. To hide the theme's default: - Click the Header section in the left sidebar. - Scroll its settings down to Custom CSS. - Paste the CSS below and click Save. ```css details-modal.header__search { display: none; } ``` > Note: this snippet is just an example — it targets the search modal used by Shopify's Dawn theme and themes based on it. Every theme structures its header differently, so the selector you need may be different on yours.
